5.0 out of 5 stars Working out very well
Film was very easy to cut and install and looks very nice.

BTW, if anyone who makes the product is reading this it would be really nice to have guide lines (a 1" X 1" grid would be ideal) on the backing paper to make cutting a little easier.

There's a window on my bottom landing that I've always thought would look nice if it were stained glass. But after reviewing the cost of stained glass I realized I'd probably never get it down. This window is also a bit of a privacy issue because it's located on the way up to the bedroom and I often run pass it in my undies worried the neighbors might see me. I decided to try this film to see if it might be a good compromise. As a compromise it's okay.

The film is pretty easy to put up and it certainly does take care of the privacy issues. It "kinda" looks like it could pass for stained glass. Light doesn't really pass through it the way it does real stained glass. That's my only issue with it really. Light does come through it and lights the pattern but with real stained glass you can still see out a little, even if it's a blurry view. This totally obscures the view. But, alas, for the money, it's not a bad compromise if you find you have a similar situation. Oh, and the fact that this particular pattern is textured makes a huge difference in giving the effect of stained glass. The flat, untextured patterns just look like wallpaper for your windows.

I agree with the previous review. Grid on the paper backing would be very nice to assist in cutting straight lines without the use of a straight edge. I like the look of the windows I applied this print to. There still is enough light that comes through the design but its not a whole lot.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Work if it Won't Stay Up, October 18, 2010
This review is from: First Stained Glass Window Film 24-by-36-Inches (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this product for my elementary classroom. There is a window in our classroom, unfortunately located right by the drinking fountain, that overlooks the playground, making it a tempting place to hang out when other grade levels are outside. I thought I had found an attractive solution. I got it up, and it looked good...for about 2 weeks. Then the edges started to peel. I put them back. They peeled again, and then some more, and then I took it down. So much for that.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and at times it is very humid here. I don't know whether that plays into this problem, or whether it would happen anywhere. The window is nice and clean, but the cling doesn't cling...period.

First of all I purchased both this one "Stained Glass" and the "Magnolia Tree", both came with a squeegy for installation which was a pleasant surprise. After installing both...although the "Magnolia Tree" film had a higher rating in the customer reviews...I clearly favor this one for it's cleaner overall appearance. The installation process is pretty easy if you follow the directions.

I used this film for a window in my shower. I wanted privacy, but didn't want to put a curtain or blinds up in my shower. I was worried about what water might do to it, but it is working perfectly. It looks very good in the shower, almost just like real stained glass. The picture that you see is pretty accurate. Very classy, a great buy!

Ease of application, quality of the product: just amazing. It really does look like stained glass, and with the texured finish, really hard to tell the difference on the application side. I will definitely order more of this amazing stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks great. Easy to install, October 10, 2011

I've applied this film on the clear glass on the sides of the entrance door

First of all, IT LOOKS GREAT:
- transparency level is just enough to get privacy
- looks like real stained glass
- texture adds that nice finishing touch which other films are missing
- looks great from outside in the night
- looks great from inside during the day

This film was quite easy to apply:
- it is thick enough not to wobble/stretch
- still thin enough to work with it easy
- the longest time is to measure and cut it (you have to take your time and to make a template from other piece of paper)
- clean your window well, apply soapy water, slap it, squeeze air with towel
- minor imperfections from small air bubbles dissolved after few hours

When I first opened the package, the film appeared to be a much darker color than the picture represented. However, after applying it on the window, the light from outside lightened the colors. I am pleased with the outcome and the application was easy.

I was apprehensive when I first pulled out the roll -- it looked a bit 'cartoonish'. But once up on the window, looks pretty darn good during the day. At night, the window looked 'blacked out' which I don't care for so I'll have to add a sheer or something. As others have said, grid on the back is a must (what were they thinking?!) for proper cutting. Also, different sized rolls would be good -- I end up wasting 1/3 of the product due to roll being 'too small'. I'm sure the mfg. is thinking that means I'll have to buy more rolls....but no, I just do less windows:)
