intuitive and comprehensive,

This review is from: The First Steps to Fitness: How to Stop Thinking about It and Start Doing It (Paperback)
I have read many fitness books and this one is the most comprehensive out there. The tone is warm and helpful, the suggestions are realistic and the results are amazing. I especially like the workbook format and the focus on the psychological and emotional aspects of fitness as well as the physical.
I would recommend The First Steps to Fitness to anyone trying to get or stay in shape, especially women who have poor body image and/or feel like whatever they've been doing to get into shape hasn't been working. The answers are in this book.

Insightful manual for fitness success!,

Finally a fitness book that supplies ALL the tools you need to succeed in getting fit. Exercises with pictorial descriptions makes it easy for the novice weight trainer to get started with the program. I enjoyed the inspirational real stories of people finally "doing it" whether it be in diet/nutrition, emotional recovery, or strength training. I found the charts to be crucial in my own success, especially the action/result goals and resistance training program. This is a must have fitness book!

The best overall exercise/fitness books I've read! Burn all the others and stick with this one...it will get you what you want and what you need. It's easy to follow program and self motivation tips are better than getting yelled at by a personal trainer!! If you read this one, and get with it, you'll be well on the road to a fitter and better life!!
