5.0 out of 5 stars Grows with your Child
This is a study bible that will grow with your child. It is basic enough to entertain a 3 year old but thought provoking enough to keep young readers turning the page. Each chapter is only 3-5 pages long and is told in the first person. An example is the beginning of Genesis. It starts off "I am Moses. Genesis is the first book I wrote. I wanted everyone to...

2.0 out of 5 stars a good beginner bible for a toddler
This is a very nice small child's first Bible. It covers some main events and a few notable people from the Bible. I read it to my oldest child when she was a toddler. There are cartoonish pictures, and Bible events and people are introduced in a first person narrative. For example, "Hi. I'm Abraham. ....etc.." I bought several of these to give to 3 year olds from...

I wanted everyone to know how the world began...."

The meaning of each story comes across beautifully especially with the "Think About This" at the end and foot notes throughout. My 3 year old loves to hear the stories and will look through the book on her own as well. If you are looking for a children's study Bible, I highly recommend this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Study Bible, January 11, 2004
This review is from: My First Study Bible (Hardcover)
This book was a really inspiring book. Even though the difficulty of the book wasn't hard, Study Bible reminded me of the things in life that are precious to us, and how we shouldn't take them for granted. Along side with other morals and positive qualities it taught in the book, it was a great history review for me. I liked the essence the book gave off, how the characters in the book were able to communicate with God and how their fates were changed. I enjoyed this book a lot, and I would reccomend this book to anyone of any age. 5 STARS!

I have purchased and given away more than 40 copies of this wonderful, study Bible to children...and to adults who have difficulty reading.

This is the perfect Bible basics course book. It covers the main stories of EVERY BOOK in the Bible, not just a few classic stories. It shows that every book of the Bible is important, not just the ones with a well known tale, like Noah's Ark or David and Goliath.

The simple, colorful illustrations make My First Study Bible a book all children will enjoy. The writing of the stories is well done, keeping to the importance of the message, as well as the telling of the story. It makes a child want to pick up the Bible and learn about the Word of God.

For an adult with limited reading ability, it is a great way to introduce them to the Bible. A new Christian of any age can learn the basics of the Bible in a short time, using this beautifully organized and illustrated study Bible.

Every child in my Sunday School class is given one of these Bibles, when they first begin to study with me...even the ones who cannot read yet. This is where they can begin to learn about God. This is the book to assist their parents in teaching them the lessons of the Bible throughout the week...not just on Sunday.

I use the material in this Bible to plan class activities and Bible lessons for all of the children's Sunday School classes...even the teens. Though they read from an adult Bible, they love the lessons and artwork of My First Study Bible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and complete, August 29, 2011
This is the best children's Bible our family has found. Our favorite part is the fact that it does not come to an abrupt stop when it gets to the New Testament like most children's Bibles do. Namely, it presents the establishment and spread of the Lord's church from the book of Acts. Furthermore, it gives at least an overview of all 66 books. Thank you, Dr. Loth, for your attention to detail! Highly recommended by this father of two (4yrs and 3yrs).

2.0 out of 5 stars a good beginner bible for a toddler, December 4, 2008

This is a very nice small child's first Bible. It covers some main events and a few notable people from the Bible. I read it to my oldest child when she was a toddler. There are cartoonish pictures, and Bible events and people are introduced in a first person narrative. For example, "Hi. I'm Abraham. ....etc.." I bought several of these to give to 3 year olds from Vacation Bible School who did not have their own Bible at home. In my opinion, nothing matches the original Bible, and children should be taught it as early as possible, but this is helpful for little bitty ones. Hearing things from a first person perspective is a nice change of pace to little ears.
