Lance Horne is a treasure, and this CD has been on constant rotation since I bought it. The pianist and composer ranges widely, from the big ballad - Last Day On Earth - to the moodily ambient - January - to the irrepressibly cheery - Haircut. Such a great selection of vocalists too. Any album that manages to secure both Alan Cumming - lead track America, a clever satire on the US whose quiet anger builds - and the cabaret chanteuse Meow Meow - the aforementioned January - is worth checking out. But with each play, I discover a new nuance, another clever line....
