I must say that Surface has made good slowjams. It's a shame that no one has reviewed this album...which makes me the first one. The first single i heard from this group was 'Shower Me With Your Love' which has very catchy chorus and of course good lyrics. This song has become me and my gf's car cruising song and a song we sing together. I bought their album because of that single and discovered two other slowjams hits like 'The First Time' and 'Never Gonna Let You Down'. I've played these songs over and over again.

The only disappointment to this album is the song 'Falling In Love'. It was not included in tracks. It's one of my favourite songs so i end up downloading it from the net. Overall the album is 4/5 and its worth buying.

If you like Atlantic Starr you'll definately love Surface.

The reason I purchase "The Best of Surface" is because of the good old days. During this period I had a lot of fun going to friends, dancing in clubs and just enjoying life as it was. However we all know that time doesn't waits for anyone. There has been many years since I last saw many of my friends and family member. This CD bring back good memories and good times. It makes me feel pretty good. I guess what I am saying is this, whenever times are tough or seem to be tough, I turn on my good old days music. Each and everytime I do this, my friends, family members and my happiness are within me all over again. A really good feeling. Well there you have it, my reason for purchasing this CD.

I agree with the other reviewer. It's a shame not too many people realize what a gem this is. It's not just that the songs are good, it's that this type of music is so rare, which is exactly what makes gems so precious.

They don't make'em like this anymore: light, airy, breezy, upbeat & bouncy yet somehow still managing to be mid-tempo, and definitely not too funky. But at the same time soulful & tender and backed by a subtle bass note. Listen to the voice inflections, especially on "You Are My Everything" and you'll know what I mean. The thing is, even when they were makin 'em like this, this music was still rare.

If music's job & attraction is to set(or enhance) a mood then Surface's music is THE perfect complement to a perfect spring day. I never play this music at night as it begs to be the soundtrack to a gorgeous spring day when romance is in the air & when men are gentlemen and ladies can be treated like princesses. When the sun in all its splendor is out & when you're just cruisin'. If there's ever been a spring day when you were just out & about and noticed an incredibly beautiful single gal and on an impulse just bought her some flowers, then this is the music that you set that moment & feeling to.

This is a good CD, but could have pulled some of its better songs to compile.
