My 20-month old daughter LOVES trucks and loves this book. I picked it up on a whim because it was on sale when she was a year old and it's been a favorite ever since. I suspect she would have loved trucks even without the book. (We had some construction going on near our park and even I had to admit those giant excavators are pretty awe-inspiring.) But the book is responsible for her being able to correctly identify the differences between a backhoe, wheeled excavator, and front-end loader. Her mom certainly couldn't have taught her. This book is also useful to ignorant parents of a truck-obsessed child. Who knew tractors had so many attachments? My husband was pretty impressed when we passed some road work in the car and I started calling out, "There's a paver, a scraper, a roller. Oh look, they have both a concrete crusher and a track excavator."

I stopped by here today to buy another copy of this book because our twin boys (23 months) fight over this book. We have a lot of books, but this is by far their favorite. They take it with them to the table, in the car and to bed. They love to say the names of the trucks. The book has pictures and names of the trucks. It really is a good book for kids who love big trucks.

I cannot say enough about how good this series of books is. We have all the titles that are avaiable in Australia and they are the most well-read books in our Children's library.
They are the perfect-sized books for your little one and a great way to get them interested in learning to love books. The pages are strong and sturdy and will take any amount of page turning your little one can dish out.
The best thing about these books is the wonderful photography of each item - clearly labeled with it's name. As you read this book over and over to your child it won't be long before they are the ones pointing to the picture and telling you what it is.
I've read this series of books (over and over)to my children since they were about 6 months old. The eldest (now 4 and a half) still flicks through the books and has started to point things out and say the words to her little brother.
Highly recommended!

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I bought this book for my 2 yr old son for a stocking stuffer this past Christmas. I didn't realize I would love it so much. It is full of trucks of all types, and it also has the correct name of each one. My son loves trucks but called them all room rooms, as in the noise. Well with this book he now calls them by name. A tractors is now a tractor and not a room room!! I am so excited. I can't wait to buy the whole collect of "My First Books"! I really feel it will help my son learn the correct names for the objects he sees everyday.

My son just turned two, and he has recently become fascinated with trucks. This book helps him put names with each truck, and he gets so excited when we see the trucks he has read about in his new book! This is the first book he asks for in the morning, and the last one he reads at night. He really loves it!

We borrowed this book from the library and it quickly became obvious that we would have to buy a copy. It's packed full of just about every kind of truck you can imagine.

We were given this book several months ago, and initially my son was indifferent to it. At about 13 months, he became very interested in books. A few weeks ago, he became obsessed with this book. We keep a stack of board books in his playroom, and he will go through the whole stack to find this one and bring it to me. If I try to read a different book, he will get this one and push it at me until I read it. He will eagerly listen to it 5 or 6 times in a row. The only reason I'm giving it four, not five, stars is because I've gotten a bit sick of it!
The text includes many different kinds of trucks, though the language for most is not something a newly-verbal child can emulate. (Tractor with plow, etc.) The font is clear (essential for reading upside down so the child can see the page) and the photos are bright, clear, and engaging.

My 18 month old nephew loves this book and looks at it all day long. He sleeps with it and takes it with him on trips. It's getting worn out from all the use, and we'll need to buy him a fresh copy of it soon.
