"The First Week with My New PDA" takes the mystery out of all this "tapping and beaming." In basic terms and in a logical sequence, the reader learns the parts and pieces of a variety of PDAs that use the Palm Operating System. They will learn how to perform the most important tasks including organizing an Address Book, keeping a Calendar, making Notes, and remembering their "To Do" list. In addition they will learn the tricks of the special written language called Graffiti and all the easy ways to synchronize their information. Lessing includes a section explaining the use of PDA attachments such as modems, digital cameras, and GPS mapping systems. The book concludes with the hallmark of The First Week series, a clear and concise step-by-step guide for performing each of the basic tasks of the PDA.

Pamela R. Lessing has had a very diverse career as a librarian, art consultant, member of various advisory boards of numerous non-profits, a member of the Trustee’s Council of the University of Rochester and a member of its visiting committee evaluating the College. Useful, Easy to Understand!,

I received this book when I got a digital organizer as a gift. I don't know what I would have done without Pamela Lessing's book! She gives easy to understand instructions to everything you need to know to get up and running with your digital organizer. Most importantly, she doesn't talk down to you.

If you're looking at any more than the absolute basic info, don't waste your time. I wish the author had spent a little time and effort on how to manage files, how to use expansion memory, how to display spreadsheets, etc.......nothing!!
If you already own the PDA, and have a user's manual, you should be able to turn the unit on without buying a "Very Basic Guide".
