Boardbook flashcards,
This review is from: First Words Look and Say Chunky Flashcards (Look and Say Flashcards) (Cards)
I really love these flashcards! They are nice, sturdy boardbook. The pictures on them are very sweet. They are FIMO models on pastel backgrounds. On the front of the card there is a large picture of something (a beach ball) and then the lowercase word written below it (ball). On the back of the card there is the same word written larger. I would have preferred that the written word only be on the back; it seems rather redundant. But you can easily cover the word under the picture with your hand. There is a suggestion card for things to do with them. They come in a nice box as well. I am very happy with the purchase!

Have been using these cards with child since age 10 months (now 17 months)and child loves them, they are sturdy and well done. We use flashcards after meal is finished to keep child sitting for a few minutes to let food digest (very active otherwise). Only complaint would be with the box, a child cannot open and close this box by themselves, not get the cards out easily by themselves. I have other flashcard sets from DK Publishing and the boxes are heavier cardboard with velcro sealing flap so a child can open and close the box themselves.

Awesome tool to teach with,

I am a toddler teacher and have used these every day. These are awesome flash cards, when I set out to find a set of flash cards to start with my nine month old, I discovered how truly awesome these are. These cards show only the picture of the word, unlike others that have a character holding the item (confusing to really young children. I am ordering a set to use with my baby boy, and know I wont be disappointed!

I'm a speech-language pathologist who works with early intervention, mostly below age three, and I use these cards every day with every child on my caseload. They are real photos and are big, hard board, and functional, and my kids love them! These are the first nouns I teach my little kids who have no language. Wish I had more sets of nouns, verbs, and adjectives in large cards as these! If you have a baby you want to teach to talk, these are great. I always recommend that parents start with real photos with one picture per page when beginning pictures with babies. This is what they need! My boss gave all of us a set of these when we started working with her company, and now I know why!
