The First Year with Baby Boy (What We Couldn't Live Without)
A Listmania! list by A. Rosch(Oconomowoc, WI United States)
The list author says: "Here is a list of things we found particularly useful in our first year with baby. It includes our favorites and baby's faves. Every baby is different, with their own preferences. But I think this is a decent list of things you can't go wrong with."
"One of the best books out there. Written by a doctor who finally had his own baby. Gives it to you straight, from both a parent and a doctor's point of view."
"Our neighbor offered to loan us this, and we are eternally grateful. Didn't realize we'd need one, but don't know how we would have lived without this. Used it until our son was causing the bottom to bow due to his weight. He LOVED sleeping in this!"
"Okay, so this isn't the brand we have (ours was a hand-me-down and isn't made any more) but I have to highly recommend getting one of these. Is it essential? Probably not. But my husband and I use ours every day to peek in on our child. It's wonderful to be able to watch him fall asleep, listen to him talk baby babble to himself, or see what he's doing in there. Wouldn't want to be without one."
"My husband once saw a manly man wearing one of these and he said to me, I could see myself using a carrier if I had a nice looking one like that... And the rest is history. Comfortable and easy to wear. Baby likes it, too!"
"These are awesome PJ's especially for the first year when you aren't supposed to use a blanket. Tip: also buy Carter's fleece sleep sacks. They have sleeves. The Halo sleep sacks are generally sleeveless and require baby to wear a long sleeve tee or onesie underneath."
"We bought this just after we had the baby and I wish I had gotten it sooner. Not only does it take FAST photos, but great video. Easy to capture all the important moments with this awesome camera. Worth the money."
"For times when you don't need video, this baby monitor is the best. Great range - we can go all the way to the neighbors house. Also has a setting so it will only go off if there's a noise. Don't have to listen to static if baby is asleep."
"Got this in dark brown microfiber and you can't tell it's ever been used. Holding up well. Had this through my pregnancy, through breastfeeding, and now beyond. Great for rocking and feeding late night bottles, or for story time or just cuddle time."
"Greatest catchall ever. Currently using in our living room to hold all the toys. Quite large and very cute. Since it's canvas it's easy for even baby to tip over and get things in or out."
"Not the exact model we have, but definitely can't live without one of these. For the first several months whenever we weren't holding baby, he was swaddled and chillin in this seat. Napped here, too. Loved the vibrations, music, and toy bar. 3-point harness kept him safe until he no longer wanted to be put in his bouncy chair. They grow up too fast!"
"As you pass through the stages of teething your baby may need a variety of teethers to help him find relief. These were great to get those hard to soothe areas and are still being used today."
"Sassy's Who Loves Baby? book allows you to insert real photos of your family members into the plastic sleeves. Baby can chew, drool on, and kiss your photo and get to know who is who. He loves seeing pics of Grandma and Grandpa even when they aren't around."
"Got this as a gift and baby goes crazy for it. Loves to look at self in mirror and dances to the variety of familiar classical tunes. We like how the colors are announced in French, Spanish and English. How smart!"
"Didn't know it would be necessary to have the one with the foot pedal, but MAN am I glad we got this one. Keeps odors contained and easy to use when you have your hands FULL. Get this!"
"Greatest invention ever. Allows baby to enjoy new foods without the hazards of choking on food particles. Put chunks of pear, watermelon, nectarines, berries or other foods in mesh bag and let baby chew and suck and taste. Can also be put in fridge or freezer. Dishwasher safe, comes with cap for travel or on-the-go."
"We just got this & it's totally awesome. Recommended age is 18m+, but we're using it early. Mostly for toting baby around the yard. Will serve us well for years to come. Baby gets a totally new perspective on the world. Bought it when the price was $150. Shopped around 1st and feel we got a great deal."
"Something about this goofy looking toy has our child captivated. He's learning to operate the buttons and knobs and will sit and play with this for a very long time. It never gets old. Go figure."
