5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and effective
We got this seat when our 14 1/2 month old daughter showed a real interest in potty training. We had looked at potty units but they were awful pricy and seemed like they would be a total pain to keep clean. We opted for one this seat and a step stool instead.

The seat doesn't take up hardly any room in her bathroom. Most times we just leave it on the seat...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a stable potty seat
I was so excited to buy my son a potty seat. He is two and has been using it since he was about 22 months. He picked out the pooh and loved it and I love the splash guard. Unfortunately, the seat tips when he leans over to pick up a book from a bucket on the floor. He is not leaning over to the floor, the books are about 1 and a half feet from the floor. This seat is...

Most times we just leave it on the seat for her. It is easily cleaned with a bleach clean up wipe. Plus it is very convenient and easy to use. There isn't anything to empty or try to keep clean. Plus this unit doesn't do any of the silly and destracting things like play music which some of the chiars did.

She also likes the handles on the sides. They give her something to hold on to as she still a bit unstable. They also keep her hands off the toilet paper which she loves to unroll. All in all, this has been an inexpensive and effective way to start potty training her. At he rate she is going she should be completely done by mid-fall and I think it has alot to do with this seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toilet Potty Ring out there, March 9, 2007
This review is from: The First Years Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat (Baby Product)
We have several toilets so I bought other potty seats intially so I didn't have to carry up and down stairs. The handles are a must for the user to get on and for the cleaner to take the seat out without touching icky stuff. The boy cup in this one is not removable by the user. On one other model I had, the cup didn't last a day. This ring is by far the most stable. As for the reviews about it being unstable, I wonder if the foam supports were put on. In addition, your child is supposed to be supervised in the bathroom! Good grief! They shouldn't be leaning over for anything... hand them the book! And chafing? How long is the kid sitting there? Overall and excellent seat. I ended up replacing all the potty seats in the house with this model.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL!, August 24, 2008
This review is from: The First Years Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat (Baby Product)
Two words....FOUR DAYS! My husband is in the military, so we had to plan our potty training time around when he was scheduled to be home. We expected to be on "lock down" for about one or two weeks. I read lots of reviews about different potty seats. They always seemed to have the same problems...the seat was too small, too uncomfortable, the pee guard wasn't big enough or it would come off too easily. Well, my son has always been in the 90th percentile; I don't have time to mess around with a seat that is too small, or a pee guard that doesn't stop the pee from spraying everywhere! I also didn't want any music or lights that may distract him from why he's sitting there; it's potty time...NOT play time! The first time, we had to leave him on the potty for about 10 minutes or so before he actually went. It's a good thing I went for comfort too!!! Since I was able to leave him there without his little butt hurting and with no unnecessary distractions, it only took us 4 DAYS to potty train him!!! Oh yeah, and he was only 21 months old...wow! He is now 2 (he turned 2 in August), and wearing ONLY undies...to bed, in public...always! I recommend this potty seat to everyone! I'm pregnant now, due in October. I'll be getting another one when it's time to train our little girl...for sure! Good luck moms!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Great For Pooh fans..., August 19, 2005
This review is from: The First Years Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat (Baby Product)
I think my son will kill me later in life for writing this BUT the handles really helped him with going #2. Sometimes he felt the need to shake or grp on them. Whenever he sits he used this potty topped, he has Two...one with and wiltout handles.. (hey two is fine...as long as he goes in the potty...I'd have more lined up if he wanted...lol)

I am not a fan of any shield.. Unless you lift and place your son on it. He may scratch himself down there. My son hurt himself and complained for over 5 hours... so we took it off.. Highly reccommend, no need to make the first potty trips a bowl full of trama... Having a familar character always helps as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, December 29, 2005
This review is from: The First Years Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat (Baby Product)
The seat fits on the toilet well. The potty cushion is pretty cushie. My daughter doesn't mind sitting on it. Only bad thing is the cushion won't stay fixed to the ring unless you use the spray shield. Daughter doesn't seem to mind, but sort of a hasslle to convince her to ignore/not investigate something that isn't on the potty we use at home (we use this potty seat at the grandparents' house).

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted!, March 15, 2006
This review is from: The First Years Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat (Baby Product)
No hidden surprises, and even a couple of bonuses. It's cute, fits well and my twin boys LOVE the handles!!! A nice bonus is that is comes with adhesive cushions so there's no chance of scratching. Another thing I really like is that the splash guard is nice and secure. We have "Blues Clues" potty ring and the splash guard is always sliding to one side or the other or simple falling off and it does not have handles for them to hold onto. We much prefer this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good seat!, May 17, 2011

This seat is OK. IT has the high pee deflector that IS removeable. The opening is the average 5x6.5in. Do not get the brand that looks very similar but is NOT made by First Year. That product does not have the same deflector. The seat sits in place pretty well with just the ring that extends 'into' the toilet but shifts a little less with the 4 foam tabs to place on the underside of the plastic ring (between the ring and your attached toilet seat).

It's more cumbersome to carry around (eg diaper bag) because the back design protrudes up and out, adding more length it. Overall, it's a great ring, especially if you need deflection.

Overall, this is a good potty seat. We like the handles and the nonslip pads help to keep the potty in place. The splash guard did not work as well as we were hoping for our little boy, so we ended up taking it off. We thought we would like the removable pad feature for cleaning, but it seems urine gets underneath sometimes, so we would rather just be one piece instead. Still works great as far as its basic purpose.

Great little seat. The old seat we had would move around on the toilet but this one has a rubber grip on the bottom side with helps ensure it doesn't slide. Also, it has a high pee guard so little boys keep the pee in the toilet and not on the floor.
