A Must For Every Mother!,
By Susanne (Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The First Years Essentials Care Kit (Baby Product)
This neat zippered nylon case, is perfect for travel. The kit's digital thermometer can take a temperature orally, rectally, or from the underarm area, gets a reading in approximately one minute, and has an automatic shutoff function. The oral medicine syringe and medicine spoon are fairly standard in design but will definitely help make dispensing medicine easy and accurate. The nasal aspirator is a must for stuffy noses not yet trained in the intricacies of blowing; the kit also includes a nail clipper. A rattle is also included with this kit, although it is very colorful.. I feel unsafe for a small baby or toddler.

Great for on the go, or at home!!!,
By April Johnson (Sacramento, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I think that this product is well worth the money! I love the nose sucker (as we call it). It has an insertion guard so that you can't put it too far in the baby's nose. I love the nail clippers also. There is enough extra room in the case to put a bottle of infants tylenol, or advil. The only thing that I don't like is the thermometer. Mine takes FOREVER to beep. I got another one for my baby shower, also made by The First Years that has an insertion guard for taking temperature rectaly. I have this one in my kit instead. Other than that, very easy to put in a diaperbag, convienient handle on the top, and great products inside!

Low quality items in a great package.,

Out of this kit, I use one item - the nail clippers. The cute little blue case is great, but - the thermometer takes two long to read the temperature. Invest instead in a Safety First High Speed Thermometer - it takles like 10 seconds to get an accurate rectal temp. The medicine thingy is too big and most medicines come with syringes or little droppers which work better. The nasal aspirator does have a strong enough suck. The big green one you get from the hospital works much better - find a way to get more of these. The rattle is cute, but I have toys that I already keep in the diaper bag. Don't buy this - buy everything separately and make a little kit yourself of good quality and necessary items for your baby on the go.

Love the bulb syringe,
By Christen Cox (Annapolis, MD USA) - See all my reviews

It is much better than the one they give you from the hospital... it has a bulge on the end that prevents you from going too deep into the baby's nose. I also really like the toy that comes with it. And the case is very organized and makes it very portable. A must have for all new parents.

My Other Wallet,

I use this little zipper bag as a sort of gadget purse for baby health things. Even with everything in it I can find room for a Desitin tube, a bottle of Mylicon drops, a bottle of Baby Tylenol, Q-tips, and a little sample bottle of Eucerin cream for baby's exema. On the side is a net pocket where I keep my pediatrician's appointment cards and medicine instructions. Also, on the inside are a couple of pockets where phone numbers are kept on a provided card; I keep a pocket-sized record of baby's immunizations (that my nurse gave me) in there as well. Very handy.

great set,
By Joey Roberts (State College, PA USA) - See all my reviews

I really like this set. It is small and fits nicely into the diaper bag. I bring it with me because babies always seem to get snags in their nails or a stuffy nose at all the wrong moments. This set has it all. When I travel I am comfortable with it because it has it all. A rattle to play, a thermometer, a ball syringe. I love it. That ball syringe is the best thing for a baby with a stuffy nose. This is great because you don't need a separate grooming set and separate first aid type things. It is all in one pack.

So very useful!,

I have been so glad to have this kit. It was worth every penny. Everyone told me that the only worthwhile nasal aspirators were the ones you get from the hospital. Well, my hospital aspirator cracked after just a few days of use. I was so pleased to find that the one in this kit is even more effective and much more durable. The thermometer is effective and easy to use. It does have to be held a while in position, but I've never found an accurate thermometer that didn't take a few minutes to get the reading. But by far the best part of this kit is the dropper. I have read some people complain that it is too big. The size is precisely what I love about it. When my baby had an ear infection, she had to receive a teaspoon of antibiotic. The pharmacy could provide us a beaker style spoon, but my daughter was much too young to use that effectively. This dropper made giving her the medication a breeze. Just slide it in, place the tip between cheek and gum, and slowly squeeze. Simple and tidy. I have been repeatedly relieved to have this kit on hand, and would recommend it to any parent.

Essential for Diaper Bag,
By Amberleigh Powell (Mineral, va United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The First Years Essentials Care Kit (Baby Product)
This set is great for a diaper bag. You have evrything that you need, in a small, compact set. If you think baby is sick and your out, you can use the thermometer to take babies temp. The nose sucker is great when baby is congested or sneezes. And it's by the First Years which has a great company reputation.

The bulb makes it all worth it!,
By azriel (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The First Years Essentials Care Kit (Baby Product)
I really like how organized this set is. The one thing that I absolutely love is the bulb because there is no way to stick it in too far and it cleans easily by opening the top and then rinsing the inside with soap and water. There are alot of emory boards for filing baby nails and the clippers are absolutly safe. I have not yet used the other things but really, the bulb is the greatest thing in the world. Even if the other stuff ends up being worthless, I'd just go out and buy a better model to put in it's place. The case is pretty useful, you can even fit a small bottle of medicine in it.

This is a must have for all moms and dads. I have used everything in this little kit so far, except for the dropper. I keep it in my diaper bag at all times!
