Kickin Coaster Soarin!,

My son LOVES the kickin coaster... he's been active in it since about 8 weeks old. It's a toy at Grandma's house, but we might just have to get another for our own house!

One of the best items ever made!,
This review is from: The First Years 3-in-1 Kickin Coaster Seat, Green/Yellow (Baby Product)
We bought this item for our daughter when she was 2 1/2 months old. We noticed that when you held her upright, she would kick her legs alot and seemed like she wanted to jump. We saw this item in a baby magazine, and at the time, $70.00 seemed like a lot. Let me tell you, it was more than worth the money. First, the fact that it has 3 music settings is great. 1-upbeat music, 2-slow, sleepy music, 3-music when the kick function is activated. It also has 2 levels of vibration mode, if your child begins to fall asleep. It also has a lock feature, if you want the child to remain stationary for whatever reason. I agree with some other reviewers, that the coaster is a little "short" for smaller babies. My daughter was about 20 inches, and had a hard time reaching the kicking surface. Not a problem, we just put a thick book against it, and in no time, she was kicking away. And let me say, she LOVES it. She will sometimes stay in it for 45 minutes at a time (which is a lot for a baby), and has fallen asleep more times than I can count. Additionally, it has seemed to strengthen and train her leg muscles, that now at 6 months old, she is just about standing completely on her own, and it making progress towards trying to walk. Not to mention, that it is very durable. Lets just say it has survived my 4 year old "Captain Destructo". It also comes with a foot shaped rattle/teether toy that is one of her favorites. The cover comes off very easily to wash, which we have done twice now. Overall, it is one of the most recommended items on my list, and I think is a great exerciser for your baby.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: The First Years 3-in-1 Kickin Coaster Seat, Green/Yellow (Baby Product)
We bought this for our 7 week old baby boy. He was quite the kicker in utero and when I saw this item in a magazine I knew it would be perfect for him. Our baby is pretty long for his age, 24" and he does have trouble reaching the kicking surface. We put a small flat box in front of the kicking surface and our baby just goes crazy. We tell him "Kick, kick, kick" and he does. He is so pleased with himself when the seat goes flying back (exaggerating, it's very gentle.) I like the seat because I can put it on our kitchen island while I am cooking dinner and the baby is amused. He's too small to really play with toys with his hands so this is great. I noticed in the 2 weeks that we have owned it the baby always wants to stand on my legs when I hold him. He doesn't want to bend at the waist and sit. He gets such joy out of using his legs! We purchased it at Baby Depot.

Fun exercise for your infant,

Your baby can eat, sleep and play in this innovative "bouncer". What's most unique is that baby can "exercise" in this. The seat sits on a lockable track that slides on an incline. Baby can push off with his feet, allowing him to slide up and back. The foot platform responds to the kick with lights and sounds (that can be turned off). It also vibrates for nap time. Here's a video testamonial produced by the manufacturer.

MUST HAVE for a Fussy/Gassy Baby!,

This review is from: The First Years 3-in-1 Kickin Coaster Seat (Baby Product)
Is your newborn or infant really gassy? My little man totally was/is (he gets it from his dad for sure!!) When he was really little, he was soooooooo gassy and it just pained me to see him cry every morning trying to take a poop. I tried EVERYTHING and doing the bicycle legs and massaging his tummy seemed to work a little, but really his only option was to cry it out which just broke my heart. Then when he was 6 weeks old I saw the The First Years 3-in-1 Kickin Coaster Seat on Amazon. It looked like a fun strength building/interactive toy - but what I really liked was it's ANGLE. The baby lies in it in a semi-upright position and pushes with his legs. This seemed like the perfect solution for working out his gas issues. Holy smokes - I have to say this is by far THE BEST baby item I have bought so far. My son is now 6 months old and I can't imagine life without this thing. When I first got it when he was 6 weeks old, he was a little small for it, but we just loosened up the belt so he sat really really low and his toes could reach the bounce pad. He took to it immediately and although he couldn't really move it, he really enjoyed just sitting in it and looking at the light and sound show. But the most important part is that just like I had hoped, IT HELPS HIM POOP!!! I swear by this thing guys - it really helps him work out his gassiness. When he was little, he would cry and fuss in pain every morning. So I started putting him in the coaster (we actually call it the Poopmaster 2000). He would happily start jumping away and really enjoyed the lights and sounds. Within 5 minutes, he worked out his morning poop - with NO CRYING. Now, it's part of our every day ritual. He wakes up in the morning, we change his diaper (because I KNOW he's going to poop soon) and he sits in the Poopmaster. He giggles and plays and jumps and within 5 minutes has pooped without a second thought. I once forgot to bring it with us on a weekend trip and I was so hating myself for it! The angle allows for little babies that can't hold up their head to still play and it is perfect for gravity to help with the poop situation. The jumping is better than bicycling his legs in the air or massage. The seat also vibrates - which is very soothing for naptime. I think the seat is a little pricey at $60 - but believe me, after using it I would pay 3 times that much for this thing. The max weight is 25lbs so this will be one of those baby items that you can actually use for several months!!

Excellent for an active baby, but be careful once they can sit up.,

We have had this slide chair for 2+ months now and our daughter loves it. It is by far her most favorite activity, although now she is out growing it (4.5 months old, 16 pounds and 28 inches) already. From early on she was quite an active baby, always kicking and squirming. When I first bought the slider she couldn't reach more than her toes so I added a book. That hid the lights and prevented the motion activated sounds but helped her out, but there is a setting for constant music. At first she wasn't sure what to do and the motion made her feel like she was falling. Once she felt secure it was all go! The music is cheery and my daughter likes it when I dance along with it for her amusement. She slides happily along. Another thing we did to increase the excitement is to add a dangling rattle to the exiting toys (which are really dull on their own) so she can kick it for more stimulation and noise. That's a big hit.
I have a couple cautions though: Zoe can now push hard enough that the chair slides backwards on the tile floor with each good thrust. I don't have carpet but I suspect it wouldn't happen on that as much. Second, now that she is stronger she is trying to sit up. Once day she managaged to pull herself up on the foot frame and toys. That was fine until she tipped too far forwad and tilted sideways. If she hadn't been belted in well she would have fallen out and hit her head. Now I pile pillows on the sides just to be sure it doesn't happen again when I'm not looking. The seat is just not quite big enough with a cloth diaper on and at her length. Now her head hits the top unless she is sitting low in the chair. She has just a little time left in it due to her height, but she's ready for a bouncer now. Unlike the reviews posted after one day of use, I can say that we have had more than 2 months of daily happy use.

Kicking Coaster is a Must Have!,

My 5 month old grandson loves it! It's comfy, entertaining, multifunctional, and well made.
The seat is a well padded sling type seating that provides support. The cover is easily removed for laundering if you can keep your baby out of it long enough. It also has a padded restraint that is keeps them from falling out when they starting sitting theirselves up in it. My grandson was 4 months old when I bought this. It didn't take him long at all to figure it out. He loves to kick, loves the lights/music, and has sit himself up on occasion to touch the lights. He doesn't complain when you put him in it and it's gives mom a break. It's light weight, so you can take it all over the house or to the park. My daughter uses it sit baby and locks the kicking out so she can feed him his cereal or do his nails. He sleeps in it for a nap. It's well made. It doesn't tump over, it's sturdy, and if you have a larger toddler...they can't destroy it.(I have a 1 year old and 3 year grandkids that have really tested it out!) Over all it's a great product. Grandson and his mom can't get by without it. I think the thing is pure genius! It's absolutely the best present I've ever bought a new mom.

I purchased this for my son when he was just turning 3 months old. He kept trying to jump and kick his legs when we would hold him, so we thought this would be a good purchase and we were right!! Over this past month, every day he loves to be in this chair (and for longer periods of time.) The chair is super comfy and moves up and down when he jumps in it, at first he couldn't reach the base with his feet like the other reviewers said so we placed a book at his feet to allow him to reach. But after about a week or two he grew long enough to jump on the bottom of the chair. He loves the vibrating feature, its subtle on setting 1 and strong on setting 2. Its also great with the music and lights, though other reviewers commented on the music not being continuous, and it does do this weird pause feature in between the song sets which is weird. But overall its not a big deal. I am SOOO glad I bought this, it helps wear out my son and helps him build up the strength in his legs. And its one of the few things that actually keeps his attention longer then 20 minutes which is a lifesaver. And I cart it around the house with me so that he can see me while I say do the dishes in the kitchen while he plays in it (definitely make sure kids are strapped in), and he stays occupied for a good amount of time because he can easily see me and still play in the chair due to the angle the chair is at. I definitely say buy it!!

LOVE THIS!!!,
This review is from: The First Years 3-in-1 Kickin Coaster Seat, Dot To Dot (Baby Product)
This is one of the best products ever. My daughter spent 1 month in the NICU & came home VERY tight. Her occupational therapist told me not to put her in any type of jumper or to let her stand up too early(could cause a child to be bow-legged.) When I found this coaster I was so excited bc my daughter LOVED kicking her legs & always tried to stand up. The first time she realized that she could push her self up & the lights would come on, her face lit up! SHe gets so excited every time I put her in it. I love that it has the locking feature too! This is one item that I will be keeping for future children.

I got this because my 3 month old(at the time) kicks his feet NONSTOP as a means of communicating emotion. He doesn't stay in it more than 15 minutes as of now (5 months old), but that's his boredom level. Three months was a little early to get it, as he was about 2 inches too short to enjoy the coaster part, but of course he grew into it. The only thing is, the music doesn't quite keep up with him when he kicks it, so for a while he was not really sure HE was making it go. A warning, my friend came over with her son who is 25 pounds exactly (the weight limit) and I thought the mesh kicking part looked to be under obvious strain due to the weight. Overall, I would reccommend the product. It's very well constructed, but uber-easy to put together. You can adjust the sound, it has a vibrate mode and you can adjust the music to play continuously or only when the baby kicks- all cool features. My favorite feature is you can lock the coaster in place if you child doesnt care for that, or for an added safty measure.
