WORKS & FEELS GREAT,

I BOUGHT THIS PUMP AFTER MY NIPPLES BECAME CRACKED & STARTED TO BLEED DUE TO MY DAUGHTER'S AGRESSIVE NURSING (SHE CHEWS!!).I TRIED A MANUAL PUMP & AN AUTOMATIC DOUBLE PUMP, BOTH WORKED POORLY. THIS PUMP HAS A PLIABLE SHEILD THAT CREATES A GOOD SEAL WITH THE BREAST. THE AUTO RELEASE SUCTION IS SO CONVENIENT, OTHER MORE EXPENSIVE PUMPS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY RELEASED. WHY BUY A NAME (MEDELA) WHEN YOU GET CAN A BETTER PRODUCT FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY LIKE FIRST YEARS? OTHER REVIEWERS SAID THIS PUMP HURTS BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT USE IT CORRECTLY. THE BATTERY POWERED OPTION EVEN ALLOWS ME TO PUMP ON THE GO (LIKE IN THE CAR WHILE MY HUBBY DRIVES, DARK TINT HELPS :)) I LOVE THIS PUMP I CAN PUMP 4-6OZ IN ABOUT 15MIN.

GREAT PUMP!,

I got this right after my son was born and I totally love it. I also have the Avent Isis and they both produce the same amount of milk for me! It does hurt IF you don't gradually increase the suction at first to get your nipple used to it (I have found its the same with all pumps though, your nipple has to get used to being sucked like that). But if you just got done nursing and are pumping the remaining milk it doesn't hurt. Like anything else you have to 'learn' how to use it (which isn't hard) and its wonderful. I am so glad I got this and I recommend it to everyone. This is well worth the $!

I love this pump,

I have talked to others who have used the hand pumps and say they had nothing but trouble. I, myself, have never tried one. I was lucky enough to buy this breast pump first. Since the very first time I used it, I have had no problems. It was easy to use and no pain was involved (and I have sensitive nipples.) It not only makes it easier to go shopping and not have to worry about breast feeding in public, but it also helps keep my milk supply up, as I have had problems producing milk. Love the pump, love the price. But for the record, I have never tried the almighty Medela.

great for occasional use,

I had manual Avent Isis pump and I hated it. It took forever (20 min) to get some milk, it hurt, and eventually it broke. It never sealed properly.
I got this pump with my first baby and used it maybe 10 times without any problems. When I tried to use it again 2 years later it did not work - it was getting stuck on "suck" mode (did not release). I got a new one and it is awesome. It takes about 5 - 10 min to get 4oz of milk (depending on mother's supply as well). The adjustable strenght of suction was great at the beginning when the nipples are really sensitive and sore. Now I just use it at the highest setting to get the milk quickly but it does not hurt. The pump can be used with batteries which is great when you are traveling. The size is also plus because you can put it in your diaper bag and it does not take any space. It is compatible with most bottles (except Avent and that "tri-flow" bottles". It is compatible with Playtex bottles even though Playtex claimes it is not. For the Playtex bottles you want to get the Starter pack with adjustment ring for breast pumps (it has smaller diameter which fits the First Years pump). So overall - it is the best option if you want it for occasional use and the speed of electric breast pump. If you are planning on using it every day, you should get some pump designed for it, such as Medela. By the way - my first First Years pump did not work properly when I bought it and First Years replaced the whole thing ( not just the malfunctioning part) within 2 weeks. So - GREAT customer service I am giving it only 4 stars because when I found out that my old First Years pump did not work, I called the company and asked how to get it repaired. There is NO WAY it can be repaired, not by First Years or anybody else. So if your pump breaks after the warranty expires you are out of luck.

Broke in 1 month,
By A Customer
This review is from: The First Years Natural Comfort Breast Pump Kit (Baby Product)
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this pump. It worked fine for a month then the motor burned out. I called the manufacturer and I am still waiting for a replacement. Spend the extra money and buy a Medela. It was not worth the savings.

I went right back to the Avent.,

I had been using an Avent manual pump for nine months when I decided to go the "electric" route to save time. This pump sent me right back to the Avent. It took me an hour to obtain 5 ounces of breastmilk (With the Avent, I was able to pump 10 ounces in 30 minutes). Although you can control the amount of suction used, you cannot control the speed of the "suckling" and the massage action of this pump is minimal compared to the Avent. This one is also a little hard on the nipple.

THIS IS A BAD PUMP,
By "delizcesek" (Chicago, IL.) - See all my reviews

I bought this pump because of the price and thinking a battery/electric pump would be great for me seeing that I am a working mother. It started out great I was getting the milk out quick and easy, but after using it for only a month it went bad. The pump always got clogged and I had to stop pumping release my breast from the pump and twist the bottle in order for the milk to go into the bottle. When I opened the motor milk had rotted in the pump resulting in the motor breaking. I now have a manual one and I wish I never bought this pump because a manual one in 100 times better.

More milk in less time!,
By Lisa (Kentucky) - See all my reviews

After my dauhter was born I found that I did not produce enough milk. Two weeks after I bought an expensive electric pump the motor burnt out. After that I purchased the Natural Comfort Electric Breastpump from the First Years and was able to produce more milk in less time.

The pump cut my pumping time in half. The pump I had been using before took more than twenty minutes to get an ounce.
