The First Years Sit and Store Parent Bathing Seat and Stepstool

This is the greatest thing to have in your bathroom. It holds all your bath toys and has vents on the side, so your toys don't get moldy. There is no longer tons of clutter and toys sitting in the tub. My back aches are also gone since using this to sit on during her bath. It is the perfect height for me (5'5) and my husband (6'2).
My daughter has also started to use it as a stool and it is very sturdy.
I now give this to every new mom!

When we set out to buy a step stool, I wanted an old fashioned wooden two step stool, but when I saw this one I decided to buy it and I am glad we did. The storage area holds quite a bit of our son's bath toys. We bought this when our son was 18 months so he could brush his teeth at the sink and he loves it! He can push it around fairly easily. I enjoy using it as a seat at bath time and I use it to do my Firm workout video so it is really sturdy. I like that we can just hose this off in the bath tub when we need to clean it off. The only thing is that I wish it were a little higher so my son could reach further into the sink for handwashing now that we are about to begin potty training.

It look like most folks bought this item as a Seat for beside the tub, but as a step stool it is quite dangerous! On the lower level, the stool is quite stable, but on the higher level the whole top colapses!! I purchased this product as it was advertised as a two level step stool, wich is what I was looking for. When I called "The First Years", they were very short with me explaining that in VERY SMALL PRINT on the packaging it tells you not to use as a step stool on the higher level. I did actually read the directions (which I'm sure many folks don't for a simple step stool) and the warning wasn't in that part of the packaging. Anyway, I'm sure it's a fine bath seat, but it is quite deceiving and VERY UNSAFE for anyone who might buy this as a step stool and asume they could use both levels.

A very nice spontaneous purchase - we use it out of the tub to bathe our daughter and even in the tub to bathe her as well (easier on the back). The stool has even come in handy as a step stool, and her bath toys store neatly inside. Highly recommend.

I like the storage aspect of this seat and hope to utilize it as a step stool for my son. However, I find this seat to be a bit hard to sit on for any length of time. I have used it as a step for aerobics like another reviewer suggested and it worked fine for that so it has helped me get some weight off after I had my son. I would just like some sort of cushion to be added to the top for comfort. It is a unique product overall so I felt like it deserved at least 4 stars. I have added an old boating flotation pillow to the top for comfort and it is just the perfect size for it and adds the cushion I needed.

We just bought this seat based on other customer reviews, and I'm glad we did. The adjustable height is good for both my husband and I, and the seat stores all of her bath toys and bathing gear so she can't get into them on her own. It's very easy to clean & dry, and it will make a great step stool for our daughter when she's older. This is a great product!

We have this stool in our bathroom--my 2.5 year old now uses it to stand on to wash his hands. The storage inside is a great feature--we put his pull-ups in it. Also I like the two height adjustmetnts. It's very stable--so when my son stands on it, I don't have to worry that he's going to fall over! This is a fabulous product!

I purchased this step stool when my daughter was a little over a year old, and when I was pregnant with her now 9 month old twin brothers.

It works well as a bath seat. On the lower level (I will get to the whole "lower level" thing in a moment) I can reach the kids better, and I dont strain my back as much. I love that its pretty comfortable, but I added an extra grip cushion to it (wraps around the top, perfect fit!) so my bottom doesnt begin to get sore as I sit for a while. Its GREAT to store bath toys, and spare washcloths... It has vents to keep the air circulated, clean, and keeping the mold/mildew off of the items inside... Just for a little insight, its not a great place to store things that you have to get to constantly, like shampoo, because if I leave it in there and sit down, I have to get up and take it out again, but AFTER the bath its great for storage, just while the kids are in the bath they still get their hands on the soaps. I also found the top to stay closed, it isn't too easy to open (have to pull it forward) so my daughter cant do it, and the top is also very sturdy and strongly made.

I have never quite used it as a step stool (purchased a wooden, 2 step one) since it can be dangerous! If its on the 2nd level, when anyone over 20 lbs (my daughter is about 25 lbs now) stands on it, it will collapse, and my daughter has been bruised up by this before. Its also not all that sturdy for hand washing... If your child stands on the edge, or anywhere other than the middle, it will tip, and she almost broke her jaw falling forward towards the ceramic sink, but thank-god it was just badly bruised!

I still use this tub side seat for washing the children, and sometimes my daughter will use it to get on the toilet, but I really dont leave it in the bathroom without the wooden one there too, as my daughter knows that the blue stool isn't for standing on, and she usually listens. Purchase it if you want a place to sit by the tub, its a lifesaver... but if you are in the market for a step-stool, I recommend purchasing something else.

this tub side seat is great because:

1) it is a very roomy storage box for all of your munchkins bathtime toys (with a lid that the munchkin can't take off himself)
2) it is a durable seat
3) it is a safe stepping stool that doesn't slip

it has proved to be very useful.

I recently purchased the tub side seat and would recommend it to others. I like the vented storage for tub toys and it is great to sit on while giving my son a bath. In the future we will use it as a step for hand washing and potty training. My only criticism is that the texture might be too smooth. It might be slippery for little stocking feet if used as a step.
