5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect convertible car seat!
We recently received the True Fit Premier Convertible Car Seat in Blue Aurora and I think I may have found the perfect convertible carseat!

3.0 out of 5 stars Now I am stuck with it
I have an SUV & this thing barely fits, plus nobody can sit in the passenger seat anymore. It is so large & bulky. I bought it because of the safety ratings, I should have just gotten the infant seat. It is next to impossible to tighten & loosen the straps when it is rear facing. It takes up so much room, doesn't provide any shade from the sun, the buckle is so hard to...

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect convertible car seat!, October 7, 2009
We recently received the True Fit Premier Convertible Car Seat in Blue Aurora and I think I may have found the perfect convertible carseat!

The True Fit Premier (like its sister the True Fit) is super easy to install rear facing at either the 45 degree newborn recline or more upright (35 degrees) for an older baby, toddler or preschooler thanks to the alligator style LATCH connectors and the seat belt lockoffs. The best feature is that you don't need to uninstall the seat to change the harness height! This makes it great for people who need to use one seat for multiple children. We also liked that the headrest could be removed for infants under 22 lbs to allow the front seat passengers more room when the seat is installed at the full 45 degree recline needed for newborns.

The True Fit Premier improves upon the original True Fit by adding an anti-rebound bar to limit rebound toward the seat back and a handy ball level with indicators for both the newborn and toddler recline angles. The Premier line also has super plush, high quality fabric covers.

In my opinion this carseat is one of the best currently available-- all of the features of a Britax seat at lower price!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this seat, January 17, 2010
This seat is AWESOME! I have the original TF and can't wait to get our premiere. The TF is wonderful in every way. The seat doesn't sit really high...thats a GREAT thing because a parent can look out the back window when reversing or changing lanes. The headrest does have to be added once a child is over 22lbs or near the red line BUT once the headrest is added this seat can be WAY more upright meaning 35 degree angle instead of 45 degrees, with it more upright a child can see out the window JUST FINE. Also the more upright angle means that there's PLENTY of room for anyone to sit in the front seat. In fact this seat takes up less room than our infant seat front to back. The crotch strap someone else mentioned as being tight...not an issue if you move it forward to the next position(it moves unlike some seats). Its great that the seat is so wide because it means the seat doesn't become too narrow at 5 or 6 like Britax Decathlon we have. This seat is MUCH taller than most seats on the market a good 3-4 inches taller than ANY Britax convertible. And the depth of the seat is GREAT..my son is over 100% for height at 42 inches tall and still has plenty of room to RF and all he has to do is barely cross his ankles. His legs are only slightly bent.

I recommend EVERYONE get this seat!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I have fallen in LOVE!!!, December 11, 2009
I am so happy with my purchase of this car seat! I bought it at Segals store in Beaverton Oregon about a month ago. I used to have an Evenflo Titan which is a crappy seat. This seat is remarkable! My daughter wouldn't have lasted more then 2 years old rear facing in her Evenflo but she has SO much more room in her True Fit. Its much more comfortable, the straps don't twist and are even (my evenflo one had uneven straps no matter what you did and they always twisted). I LOVE how you don't have to rethread the straps for this seat! You just pull on this yellow bar in the back and lift it up or down to adjust the strap height. And the cranberry color is such an awesome color. Initally I wanted a Sunshine Kids Radian but it wouldn't fit in my car ('89 Jeep Cherokee) but I'm very happy I "had" to purchase this instead. I reccomend this seat to everyone. The only "bad" thing I guess you can say is the 35lb Rear Facing limit. My daughter is 16 months old and only 20lbs she can sit in this seat rear facing without the headrest (she is well below the line). I think this seat will get me a few more years of rear facing (which is the safest way to ride!).

5.0 out of 5 stars the Captains Chair, November 30, 2009

almost didn't fit in rear position in the back of my '91 Honda Accord, but seems very safe. Only rear to front car seat with 5 star rating from the NHTSA, which is why I got it despite price. Baby really seems to like it and climbs in and sits down to wait to be locked in. Must be as comfortable as it looks.

An excellent product. Easy to buckle up and un-buckle. It appears to be comfortable to my grandson, he rides and sleeps in it without any problems. It's a bit pricy but it definitely protects my little passenger.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Safe, August 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: First Years Premiere True Fit Signature Series Convertible Car Seat, Blue Aurora (Baby Product)
I bought this car seat after doing HOURS of research on the internet about safe car seats. This one--at the time--was considered the safest forward AND rear facing... and it still may be. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was for two reasons. 1. It was quite difficult to install. In order to get the seat tight enough to where it didn't move more than an inch was to have my husband (190 lbs) sit on it and pull with all his might. 2. The release button (between the child's legs) is difficult to release in the rear facing position. Its far down on the front of the car seat. My husband's fairly large hands could barely get to it. Based on the safety recommendations, I would purchase this car seat again. Nothing is more important than safety.

overall a great car seat, IF your car is big enough!! i drive a smaller subaru wagon (not the full sized wagon) and this convertible car seat DID NOT FIT in the rear-facing position, which is what we wanted now that the universal recommendation is rear-facing up to 35 pounds.

so, i was disappointed by that aspect. however, this car seat is super easy to install. and my 18 month old is loving her luxurious car seat in the forward facing position. and she has lots of room to grow into it for many years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME CAR SEAT, June 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this car seat, the blue Aurora is so soft and comfy. I have had it for my son since he was 2 months old. He is now 7 months and fits wonderfully. I am planning on rear facing him until the weight limit of the car seat (35lbs) and to do so this is a perfect seat because it's so nice and BIG!

It took me a a couple of tries, but I finally figured out how to get this seat in and out of my cars easily and firmly by myself. With the L.A.T.C.H., the trick is to make sure you do apply all of your weight in to the chair each time you set it up and pull the straps tight. I do like that it caters to children who have longer torsos. My 16 month old sits in it very comfortably with plenty of room to grow. It also wipes clean very easily. Since it is convertable, I am looking forward to buying a second for our child on the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great seat., April 29, 2010

I needed a new car seat for my son because he was growing out of his infant seat. I bought this seat after researching car seats at various websites including the National Traffic and Highway Safety site. It was one of the highest rated convertible seats. It is a little big but fits in my Toyota Sienna just fine. There is plenty of room for my son to move his arms and legs around. He seems happy not to be cramped in an infant seat. He is a little guy, so I have him rear facing still. I like the added safety feature of the rebound bar. It helps absorb some of the energy of a crash. I have been pleased with the purchase and happy to get a good deal on it through Amazon and BabyAge.
