5.0 out of 5 stars Dual Breast Feeder
This item is amazing for women with twins or more, this dual electric feeder saves so much time and effort to breast feed it's controlable in speed which is the most important part of the product because as all women know we get sore breast due to heavy breast feeding. I greatly recommend this product! It's so discreet that you can take it anywhere it has a cooling...

My motto is: Judge for yoursef! I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews and run out and buy a $250 pump! I'm not going to tell you this is a perfect pump, because this pump DEFINITELY has its "quirks". But all-in-all, once you figure it out and adjust it properly, IT DOES THE JOB.

NEGATIVES ABOUT THE PUMP AND WHAT I DID TO OVERCOME THEM:
1. It takes a while to figure out the suction level. We all come in different shapes and sizes, therefore suction on one side may be more than on the other side. I learned that I have to wet the shield before pumping. It has very strong suction that can hurt if you don't figure out how to adjust it properly (that can happen with any pump). 2. It also took me a while to realize that the smaller shields worked better for me. It's a really good feature that they give you two sets of shields in two different sizes. 3. The caps for the milk storage containers do not fit. Why, I don't know. They wind up leaking slightly, so I've learned to put them on as tight as I can. You could always buy new containers. 4. The bag is a little heavy.

POSITIVES ABOUT THE PUMP:
1. The storage compartments are great!!! The bag looks professional and every component has it's own place. You store the milk right in the bag, so you only need ONE BAG. 2. The power cord and the suction cord are SUPER LONG. 3. You can hold the pump in one hand, leaving the other hand free. 4. There is a spot for pictures of your baby, the directions, and a handy milk storage guide. 5. This pump can also be battery operated. 6. The containers can hold 5 to 6 oz. of milk. 7. You get to choose from 2 different shield sizes. 8. When I pump I can get 10 to 12 oz. - it has great cycling action!

OVERALL
Overall, this pump has the same features as the expensive brands. Is it "quirky" and "awkward" at times?... YES. Once those kinks are worked out, can you live with this pump?... YES! Like I said, for those of us that have to save the big money for the baby, this pump is worth the savings!!!

This item is amazing for women with twins or more, this dual electric feeder saves so much time and effort to breast feed it's controlable in speed which is the most important part of the product because as all women know we get sore breast due to heavy breast feeding. I greatly recommend this product! It's so discreet that you can take it anywhere it has a cooling storage for the milk. It's battery or electric operated and very convenient. The only problem with this it's abit heavy but alot of us know that nothing is easy. It's definitly worth the buying. Alot of the other products are asking for too much money and you can only do 1 bottle at a time but this dual one helps you double the bottle and lessen the time and effort, giving you more free time to handle your baby. I truly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!, November 24, 2003

Definititely worth buying. I rented a pump by Medela for the first couple of weeks before purchasing my own. This works just as well if not better. The cups are more comfortable, and you can use only one hand if you choose. I use this pump everyday, as I work full time. I had no problems with uneven suction. I got the same amount I pumped with the Medela in less time. My best results were 8 ounces in 8 minutes. There was no pain, as long as I adjusted the suction to my needs. It had more suction options that the Medela pump that I rented. I love the extra long cord, it makes pumping in different places even more convenient. The bag is a little heavy, but it is very well organized and is discreet looking. The only negatives are that it is a bit noisy and the lids to the containers don't work very well. Overall, this is an excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the Neg feedback on this product..I LOVE IT!, November 20, 2003

This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
I love this pump. I was a little skittish about buying it as a previous "The First Years Pump" had proved to be disappointing. I was forced to go back to work after six weeks because I was out of PTO due to being on bedrest the last 3 months of my pregnancy. I was worried about losing my milk supply. I didn't have money to buy the $300 pumps so I took a chance on this one. I have been using it for a week now and my supply has actually increased. When I first started I would average 5 - 6 oz combined, now I am pumping 8 - 10 oz. The only downfall is that if my supply increases anymore they will need to make larger bottles for the pump :o) I think that it pumps evenly, in fact I have one side that has always produced less milk than the other (this is my third baby) and this pump has evened out my milk supply to where I now get 4 - 5 oz out of each breast. It is great. No more being lopsided :o) It is virtually a hands free pump. I can rest the bottles on my desk and keep typing. I lose no work time when I pump. Before it was taking 30 minutes each time I had to pump.

Give this pump a chance...you won't be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's worth every penny!, August 23, 2004
This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
After spending money on 2 other pumps...I ended up buying this one, and it is worth every penny! I returned to work 3 months after having my baby, and started out pumping with a manual type. Then, I bought a single sided electric type, but it was very slow. This pump is like lightning!! I can pump 8-10 oz in just 3 or 4 minutes! The cleanup is quick and easy, and the 4 jars it comes with makes it easy to have ready to use the next time. I do not store milk in them, I pour it into disposable baggies, so I do not know if the leaking problem is true or not. The 4 breast shields are terrific...I use both sizes, so it's like having 4 instead of just 2. I use the "large" ones in the morning when I'm the fullest, and the "small" ones thru-out the day at work. There really isnt' that much difference in their size. Overall.....I give this pump a 10-star rating!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this pump!!!, July 4, 2004

This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
I am a new mom of twins and needed a good pump since mine were both preemies. I used the medela in the hospital which worked fine but it kept leaking all over which resulted in me losing a lot of my colostrum...plus the fact that I needed 2 hands all the time was bit difficult. The lactation consultant at the hospital recommended that I rent the same hospital pump for a month while my babies began to breastfeed. When I came home I decided to try this pump before going out and renting since I had already received it as a shower gift. I love it!!! The suction is great and it's much easier to use only 1 hand. Now one of my babies is nursing while the other is starting. I am able to pump so much (10 oz between both breasts in 5 minutes) that I need bigger containers! I have not had any problems with the lids leaking unless I overfill the bottles (which I tend to do with such a great supply).

I have recently encountered a minor problem with this pump but it was easily fixable. I noticed that it was taking forever for my flow to start (not a problem in the past) on just 1 side. I figured out that it was only happening with one dome and it wasn't my breast because it was random on one side or the other. The little plastic removable piece on each dome was getting stuck open causing it to not seal properly. I found that I needed to clean the pieces more thoroughly (not just the quick rinse with warm, soapy water that I was doing) and take off the bottom plastic flap disk. I have also noticed that if I run a quick shot of water through the parts before using it, I have no problems! That may be something to try if you are one of those who are having problems with suction!

I am so glad to have this pump!

4.0 out of 5 stars great pump!, July 16, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
I just went back to work and bought this pump because of price. I was a little nervous having used a Medela pump when my son was in the NICU, but this one has proved to be fantastic! I love that you can use it with one hand, which comes in handy when on my lunch break. I don't find it painful or difficult to use at all, and am able to pump plenty of milk in a short amount of time.
The only downsides are that the containers definitely leak, so I store my milk in bags, so not a problem, and the motor is a bit noisy.
All in all I would definitely recommend this pump over more expensive ones.

Do not listen to neg reviews! This is a great product! If they got Moisture in the hose its because they were holding it wrong and it cleary states in the directions that you need to hold it a certain way or you will get moisture in the hose! This pump was a lifesaver. The people at first years were so very helpful. I lost a filter, and I called...the next day I had 4 new filters fed ex to me! They were great! The pump is great!
The only difference between this and madela is the a name and about $100 . thank you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Pump, August 22, 2004
This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
I don't really have anything to go by, but I think this pump is great. Once you get the hang of it, it doesn't hurt, it does a thorough job and it was a decent price. The only problem I have with it is that the arms sometimes move while I am pumping and I lose suction because the cup gets moved. The manufacturer should of had a locking mechanism for them. Otherwise it's a lot faster than doing it by hand!! That's for sure!
I would buy this product again if I had to!

1.0 out of 5 stars I am sorry that I Skimped!!, November 7, 2003

This review is from: First Years Premium Double Pump (Baby Product)
Although this pump is half the price as its competitors, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I am only getting 3-4oz for 20min of pumping. It is painful to use, the breast pieces leak, the bottles do not always stay attached and my suction cable broke at the base, and one side is stronger than the other. It has not helped me maintain my supply while away from my baby 40+ hours a week. Might be good for occasional use but not for someone who works full time outside of the home.
