Finally! The hospital grade soothie in nice colors!,

My baby will only take the soothie style pacifier we received at the hospital, even after we purchased several other types. The green one we received at the hospital was getting kind of gross, so I decided to purchase a few more and I made the mistake of buying pink soothie pacifiers at the drugstore. The problem is, the ones sold at drugstores are typically the SUPER-Soothie, which is much harder and made especially for teething infants. Luckily Amazon carries these, and it is even better that they sell pink ones that are BPA free! Love it!

The pacifier you can buy!!!,

These are the best pacifiers to sooth your infant. Regular pacifiers are less like a human nipple and more like a bottle nipple. The soothie is the closest to a womans nipple and reduces the chances of nipple confusion. Give it time though because your child may not take to it right away. It took my daughter a couple weeks before she really took to it. It helps when it comes to soothing a child to sleep.

These were recommended by my IBCLC (lactation consultant)and Speech Language Pathologist (dealing with infant feeding issues) for my breastfed infant. I really liked the pink/purple colors. Although said infant is now refusing anything but the breast.

Good for obsessive suckers,
This review is from: The First Years Soothie Newborn (0-3 months) Pacifiers, Girl (Baby Product)
We are a breastfeeding family and I initially only wanted a paci for in the car or for my husband to give if I was in the shower or something. My firstborn never really took to any paci and it was never really an issue. If he wanted to suck it was because he was hungry. My second child is a whole different story! This girl will suck obsessively and if I gave her the breast every time....lets just say we'd all be wearing lots of spit up. She was doing okay with Avent pacis but when we made the switch to these she loved them! It was advised by several of my other breastfeeding friends to switch to this one since it is closer to the shape of an actual nipple and we haven't had any problem with nipple confusion. I'm sold.

My daughter never took paci for months (or a bottle either, but that's another topic). We tried Avent, Evenflo, Playtex pacis, and she would just spit it out immediately. She just sucked her fingers, which we were anxious to stop, since sucking fingers is a bad habit that can be hard to break when she's older.
We decided to give this one a try. I'd read on other reviews that babies who never took a paci would take this one on the first try. I was skeptical, but that's exactly what happened! We got this paci (when she was 4 mths) and on the first try, she took it like she had been doing this all the time!!! Amazing. As a test, I tried back the Avent, and she spit it right out. Thanks First Years. Pls don't stop making this. One idea for improvement, there wasn't anywhere to attach a Pacifier Strap. The only 2 holes are on the body of the paci, and then the strap would be pressed against the baby's mouth. Not too comfortable I imagine. I used a single-hole punch and made a hole in the 'handle' (the piece that sticks out) to create is place to attach the paci strap.

I bought a 2-pack of these, and they became the de-facto pacifiers for my girl. They are virtually indestructible!

LOVE this pacifier,
This review is from: The First Years Soothie Newborn (0-3 months) Pacifiers, Girl (Baby Product)
My daughter is a breastfed baby and I was afraid to give her any pacifier at first. But when the screaming constantly got to be too much, I decided to give this one a try. Heaven! She only sucks it for brief periods until she calms down and when she's done, she is DONE, she spits it out with a disgusted look on her face that is too funny. But it has caused no nipple confusion and it does what it's intended purpose is, stopping the screaming. Highly recommend!

Just like the hospital Soothies®!,

These are made by the same manufacturer that makes the green pacifiers hospitals give to newborns. It's nice to have an option to the green and goodness knows you'll need more than one binkie! If you don't know about Soothie®, these pacifiers are made to be most like Mom's nipple.
If you buy these, or just have the hospital-issued one, you'll definitely want the Booginhead BinkieGrip made to hang on to these binkies (as well as any other binkie and comes in an array of patterns!) Booginhead Pacifier Holder, Blue Green Stripe

Unlike many other pacifiers, these are made of a single piece of silicone, which eliminates most potential choking hazards. In addition, being made of a single piece of silicone means they are really easy to clean, which is EXTREMELY important, and they dry thoroughly and quickly. (You can even boil them to sterilize them.) Other types of pacifiers we've tried ended up with condensation/water droplets stuck inside them... no good.
Also, if you are concerned about nursing issues, that shouldn't be a problem with these pacifiers. They were recommended to us by a registered nurse who is also a lactation consultant. (Incidentally, she was not a fan of the orthodontic pacifiers.) FYI, these pacifiers work well with the Booginhead Pacifier Holder.

I bought these in order to have extras besides the one given to us in the hospital. I also wanted ones that were more "girl" since the one in the hospital was teal. This is the pacifier brand recommended me by my pediatrician - luckily it works with my daughter because it did not for my son (he never took any pacifier).
