The quality of these forks and spoons is very nice - solid and without sharp edges that cheaply made molded plastic items often have. They go through the dishwasher just fine. Also the forks are not too sharp. I feel very safe giving these to my 12-month old to feed herself with or play with. The handles are very easy to hold and not too long; for example she can stick the munchkin spoon's handle in her mouth too far and gag herself, and does not do so with these. Also the shorter handle is easier for her to manipulate as she learns to use the spoon herself. The colors are great, and so between the number and quality, this is a great deal for the price.
There might be some better options for the "first spoon" when parent is completely spoonfeeding the child, but for the stage where the kid is learning to use flatware - these are the best I've found. Actually I may have figured out why they called these "take and toss" - when your child is taking the spoon and not giving it back, or tossing it on the floor, it's nice to have more spoons at hand to keep giving them or feeding them with!

Just right for little ones!,
This review is from: The First Years Take & Toss Toddler Fork And Spoon Flatware, Colors May Vary (Health and Beauty)
My daughter is just about 11 months and I broke these out because she was trying to poke her food with her spoon, so I thought she'd like to give these a try. Like another reviewer said, they don't really stick into the food like a traditional fork, but I wouldn't expect the plastic to do it very well anyway, and my LO isn't quite ready for the metal toddler spoons that might stick better. However, the shape of the fork does have a bit of a scoop to it, so it works better than a spoon alone, and my daughter really does like being able to poke her food like Mommy and Daddy do. We haven't used these spoons, but we use the smaller Take & Toss spoons and love those, so I have to imagine these are just as good. The quality is certainly the same. And speaking of quality, it's amazing considering these can be called "disposable". They are sturdy, well-formed with no sharp edges (that you sometimes get with plastic tableware), and dishwasher safe! The colors are great to boot! The only reason that I would call them "disposable" is the price - it's very good considering the number of pieces you get in a package.

The forks are worthless because they don't stick the food. The spoons aren't as nice as the longer ones byt the same brand. These are pretty short in length and fatter so they don't work in smaller top containers like yogurt very well. Next time I'll get the longer thinner take & toss spoons. Price here is decent though.
