First You Sigh,
By Cheryl Williams (Plano, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: First You Sigh (Paperback)
When I finished this book, I felt like I'd known Beth Johnson my entire life! I bought this book to learn how to meditate, but First You Sigh ended up being much more than that. I was thoroughly entertained--I laughed out loud and I cried. It is full of profound messages about day-to-day living--ones that really make sense and have been easy to incorporate into my own life! I've read lots and lots and lots of books about meditation and varying techniques. This is absolutely the first book that described step-by-step how to actually do it. AND, I did! I rank it right up there with the best.

Missing Link,
By Richard Walla (Blanco, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: First You Sigh (Paperback)
Beth and her editor managed to touch me by writting this book in a style of "this-is-how-it-FEELS-inside-my-thoughts". It is a pleasant, enjoyable, BUT (more importantly) an informative read for anyone who may be needing help with feeling their previous attempts at meditating were missing something. This book provides the "something".

Clarity, Peace and Fun -- all in 1 place!,
By Cara L Harris (Austin, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: First You Sigh (Paperback)
I have been practicing meditation for about 3 years now. And, this book really helped to clarify things -- bringing it all together in real-life applications -- for me. My spiritual path has been greatly expanded through this book, and my meditations will never be the same. The connectedness and peace I now achieve through my meditations are far beyond anything I have experienced before. And, it did so in a very Joyous, passionate, gentle way. A very easy, friendly read that has added a great deal to my life. Thank You Beth Johnson for sharing!

I can't help but think the authors friends wrote the reviews. The book is easily two thirds autobiography of her life and thoughts. Its boring, its like you need to be a member of her fraternity to get it. If you dont mind reading the autobiographical 'stuff' the last part of the book addresses some how to type thoughts on meditation.

I consider myself a life-long student of thought! Meditation and self hypnosis are part of my daily routine. I have consciously sought to lead a life that matches who I really am, deep inside. This book rings true to all of those things. I find it inspiring to read about other people and their personal inner journeys. If you are looking to quiet the mind, settle the spirit, and reach new levels of deeper meaning, this book will please you. Finding the Gypsy in Me - Tales of an International House Sitter

Well....this book was not what I thought it was going to be. Sometimes when you are searching for something you stumble over something else, which apparently I did. I found this book to be an open and honest adventure into the world of meditation and channeling. Just be sure when you hear that first "hello" you are ready for the journey. This book will help educate and guide to a higher spiritual path but it is recommended to do your own research and studies before taking the test.

I plan to reread this book to make sure I glean every last morsel of goodness in these pages. I also plan to utilize the steps to take to reach the Silent Place. Beth Johnson writes with such conviction and truth and joy, it is hard not to keep reading with a smile on your face and a growing hunger in your belly.

I have meditated on and off for years and have not really had a problem doing it. In this book, Beth Johnson talks to the reader about toning. I had never heard of this while meditating, but I will have to admit that I went by her instructions on how to do this and it worked amazing well and was very easy to do. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in going a step further in their meditations.
