great buy for the major hobbiest
I have had the mortise for a while now and have used it for several days now. The machine is bigger than I expected which is nice between the machine and the base is about 250 pounds. I love the ease of adjustment of the fence and depth adjestments. The handle can be adjusted without tools which makes it nice scence you have six inches of travel. Overall I am very glad I...

OK, But somethings just not right
The Mortiser seems ok but the motor that was supposed to be a 3/4 horse - the sticker fell off and there is a 1/2 horse stamped onto the motor housing. Makes you wounder.

I have had the mortise for a while now and have used it for several days now. The machine is bigger than I expected which is nice between the machine and the base is about 250 pounds. I got it on sale on Amazon. It came complete and was a little over packed in grease. That said, it is a little tight still in operation compared to the powermatic. It is just right for my shop. The moving fence system is a huge improvement over my drillpress. It came in two parts a base and the machine. I was light enough for me to get down to my shop and big enough for all of the jobs I do. I would recommend it but may not be enough for a pro shop. Much better than the table top models I have seen or used.
