I paid twice this price because we found it at the Aquarium of the Pacific gift shop. I'm fine with that. It is a great puzzle for a young child. All the pieces are the same shape/size, so you can mix & match the colors on each fish - this makes it great for a child trying to develop confidence with puzzles. My daughter was struggling to develop that fine motor skill & would get easily frustrated. This puzzle really helped. Once she had that down, it took no time at all before my 23 month old could recognize & name all 10 colors.

My 15-month old son has had this puzzle for 3 months and plays with it all the time. He loves dumping the pieces on the floor and putting them back in. He is learning his colors and likes to mix and match the pieces (which he finds very amusing). This is the best puzzle we've found.

My 2 year old twins got this a few months ago and now they know all 10 of these colors! This puzzle is great because although all the pieces fit into any color, my girls would put the wrong color in and say, "noooooooo" and then put the piece into the coordinating color. They adore this puzzle and get so proud of themselves!

This was really helpful for my daughter to start learning her colors. BUT, these are not the painted wooded pieces they have a sticker ontop, after about 3 weeks my daughter started chewing off the paper. (she doesn't chew on the painted wood puzzle pieces) She also has a hard time getting the tails into the slots. It's a big decrease in size from the big wooden handled puzzle pieces M&D make to these little white stubs. Still a great puzzle but not for younger than the recommended age. (She is only 18mo)

I have bought other wooden puzzles from the same maker and they are more durable This one is more flimsy and not as high quality

We love Melissa and Doug products! Great quality. Daughter loves this puzzle. We match all the colors and then we make it silly and mix it all up. The pieces will all fit in the other sections. She loves sorting it and making it right, after "we get silly."

It is a good puzzle. My 3 year olds can easily use the puzzle and the pictures under the pieces help very much!

I bought this to help my 2.5 yer-old son learn his colors. Since all the fish look exactly the same, it makes it easier to understand the concept of colors. He loves mixing and matching the pieces, and after a few days of going over the colors repeatedly, he started saying them himself! I knew he "got" it when at a restaurant, he pointed at a red pendant lamp and said "red fish". He still loves mixing and matching the pieces.

My daughter has had this puzzle since she was 1 year old and has consistently played with it for 2 years. At first it was just about getting the fish to fit in properly, then it was about colors and now it is about getting creative with the colors. It's great.

Purchased this for a 1.5 year old girl and was very pleased with her reaction. It is not as large as I expected but the quality and appearance is exceptional. It is a very "happy" looking toy/learning tool. Faith created some very interesting looking fish. The ultimate point is to plug the pieces into the places that make a single colored fish, but she had much fun "designing" her own multi-colored fish. Another classy toy from Melissa & Doug. Much better than the noisy, plastic, "cheesy" toys!
