Cute game of doublethink and battling fish. It's a lighter version of Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation's battle system, with tactical positioning and neat little stackable plastic fish.

My only knock is the board is ugly and uninspired, and for the target audience (younger players), the "when to play stuff" skill--what to use, when to sacrifice, and how to read your opponent--is really difficult for them to grasp. It's one of those where if the adult is trying, they will defeat the child like a drum, because you see the Shark coming a mile away.

It's more fun for adults actually, but the cutesy artwork will put them off. So it's in a weird middle ground. I like it, but it's not going to come off the shelf all that often I don't think

EDIT: Oh, and that overproduced resin starfish is hilarious--we've taken to having him narrate our battles in a sad, monotone country accent. His only function in the game is to mark where a battle is happening, so the fact that he's the most gorgeously produced thing in the box is EVEN FUNNIER.

My son has loved this game for years. My brother owns it and he would bring it over and play it with the kids whenever we got together. All three of my kids are happy to have their own copy of the game now.
