From Publishers Weekly
PW said, "Cazet evokes childhood experience and the bittersweet moments of emotional growth. In glowing watercolor and ink illustrations his characters are shown as animals, yet the stories have sensitive qualities that will reverberate long after a child closes the covers." Ages 4-7.

PreSchool-Grade 2 Stopping on his way to school to admire the fish in a pond, bear cub Russell accidently loses a textbook. Upon retrieving it, he discovers a small dead fish inside. He puts the fish in his pocket and worries all day about what to do with it. He ultimately resolves his dilemma: he sails the fish into the sunset on a paper boat which he makes and labels ``Take Care.'' Cazet's glowing picture book reveals both Russell's sense of responsibility and his respect for life and death. Russell's solution is totally satisfying as it is completely his own; it works for him, and children can relate to it. Cazet addresses important values and gives them an honest, low-keyed treatment that invites discussion without lapsing into didacticism. Pale watercolor and pencil illustrations in autumnal colors include a wealth of humorous elements and child-like details of clothing, postures, and background actions. A respectful and amusing book that celebrates the renewal of life. David Gale, ``School Library Journal''
