Nothing fishy about this book, great for little kids,

This is one of our favourite books to read at story time and my kids never tire of it. I do wish the author had made the kids easier to identify, "Simone" or "Thomas" or "Libby" or someone will say a line and my son asks me which kid it is in the picture and it isn't always clear, particularly the next day at school when they are in different clothes. I also have never heard of jellyfish being referred to as "jellies" but maybe that's a regional thing? I would caution parents whose kids are sensitive to sharks as they are portrayed as the possible threat to Wishy the goldfish it hasn't seemed to bother my kids. As an adult I liked the little touches like the teacher's name (Ms. Finn) and that she wears fish-themed earrings. Cute book and a nice easy introduction to little kids.

I read Fish School with my daughter all the time. The illustrations are fun and lively and the storyline is engaging and heartwarming. I'm looking forward to buying more of Poydar's books!!
