I recently purchased this book for my 27 year old son as a gift. It was exactly what he was looking for. Of course, I enjoyed looking through it before I gave it to him. :) It has excellent colored pictures of each fish, along with a very good description of it, the habitat in which it can be found and details about the size, habits, and record fish caught or observed. There is a nice section in the beginning on general information about fish and fishing. "Fish of Wisconsin Field Guide" is very nicely organized. The book was small enough to fit in the fishing tackle box and water resistant, which makes it easy to use in the field.

I have been searching for a book that contains colored pictures of the different fish species and finally found it. As an added bonus the book is "water proof" which means it will reside on my boat and used as a handy reference.

has a good picture and some detail for each of around 70 or so varieties of fish. has the fishes grouped by related kinds which helps a lot. A body shape based lookup to help identify the fish which looks like a good startign point if you don't know the fish you've got in hand. and some helpful hints with pictures on how to distinguish between the fish and similar looking species. Overall, an awesome compilation and I heavily recommend it.
