Amazon.com Product Description

Capable of superb, DVD-like video recording with CD-like audio quality, the unique Fisher FVDC1 CameraCorder can also take high-resolution, 3.2-megapixel still images. Compact enough to fit snugly in your hand or carry easily inside a pocket or small purse--and weighing just 5.4 ounces--it's the ideal, all-in-one device for capturing life's special moments whenever and wherever they occur.

Storage is completely "tapeless," using a postage stamp-size 512 megabyte SD memory card, which lets you record up to 30 minutes of full-motion video at 30 frames-per-second (VGA-size of 640 x 480). In still mode, the 512 MB card can store up to 491 images (2048 x 1536), more than enough for crisp, sharp 11 x 14-inch color prints. And, unlike ordinary camcorders, you can simultaneously capture still images even while recording in video mode with a simple shutter press.

The CameraCorder comes with a Multifunction Docking Station that connects to a computer via an included high-speed USB 2.0 connection cable. The Docking Station can be used as a battery charger or as an AC power source during playback. It can also be used to easily connect the CameraCorder to a TV or PC for convenient, instant playback of recently shot videos and images. A handy, ultra-thin infrared remote control is included for simplified menu browsing and playback.

  • Simplified On-Screen Menus easily guide the viewer through recording/playback options

This camera is pretty cool for outdoor quick shoots that you want to take but dont want to waste film on. Also if there is something you want to shoot and go direct to computer avoiding the conversion time to mpeg4 ! You can get over 40 minutes of high quality mp4 video on a 1gb sd card , 60 min if you lower raise the compression.

Creates an mp4 , so it plays straight from computer no need to convert anything! what a time saver. Again , its an outdoor camera.... in low light there is too much digital noise... but the outdoor is great and the sound is awesome!

Great camera for the price ! Its not a DV replacement but a supplement for quick shoots or web email.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good little camera, October 3, 2005
This review is from: Fisher FVDC1 CameraCorder 3.2MP MPEG-4 Digital Camcorder with 5.8x Optical Zoom (Memory Card Not Included) (Electronics)
I've had one of these for about a year. Happy overall; supplementary 1GB SD card holds a ton of video & stills. Resolution is fine for general use. VERY handy size - slips in your pocket easily, controls are well placed. Gets a lot of attention when you use it. Problems: flash is too close to lens, so there is way too much red-eye. Video is very poor, really unusable, in low light settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everywhere I go..., October 24, 2005

This review is from: Fisher FVDC1 CameraCorder 3.2MP MPEG-4 Digital Camcorder with 5.8x Optical Zoom (Memory Card Not Included) (Electronics)
People ask me about this camera. I have had this camera for over a year now and I am still very happy with the still pictures and video that I get with this very pocket size camera. It's looking a little worn from sharing the same pocket with car keys and coins, but it still performs like new. Battery life is real good. I carry a spare (the size of a book of matches) but is usually late in the day before needed. Macintosh users will like it because stills and video import automatically to iPhoto. No hassles! The dock keeps it charged and ready for action. For it's size it can't be beat!
