My daughter is 8 and is finally able to use this w/out the base, however she has also surpassed the 60lb weight limit. She is also too tall for it now, she has to bend over to use it. It is a very good pogo stick for starters, the base gives them more balance, just don't expect your child to use it for a long time. It is very durable, we received a recall repair kit shortly after we bought it (4 years ago) and it has held up and we have had no problems. I highly recommend this as a starter pogo stick

When my four-year old grandson asked for a pogo stick for Cristmas, I couldn't imagine how he would be able to use one. Finding this was the answer. It grows with the child's ability and can be used as young as they are interested. It is well constructed and very sturdy. This is a great toy.

There is a 60 pound weight limit on this pogo stick. My son is almost 6 and he's tall so he's already at 60 pounds. So far it works ok, but I dont know how long he'll be able to use it. Certainly not until he's 10, like the write up says.
The toy is also very noisy when used. And after a few bounces my son gets tired of it.

I just wanted to give everyone a warning that there was a voluntary recall of this product. Any "Grow-To-Pro" pogo stick manufactured after August 2007. Apparently a few children have gotten facial injuries. According to the report I saw, one child actually needed stitches.
Supposedly, the stick gets stuck in the down position and releases without warning, therefore causing injury if you're not ready for the release. I'm not writing this to deter anyone from purchasing this product, I just wanted to make parents/grandparents aware of the issue. Like I mentioned previously, this was a VOLUNTARY recall. Not mandatory! Happy (safe) Jumping!

This pogo stick was the most appropriate I could find for a 5 year old who weighs around 35#s. My grand-daughter likes it but must position it next to a chair so she can hold on to the chair while pogo-ing. She does not have enough weight to get the bounce she needs to really pogo with this stick. I would recommend this stick for children who weigh more than 35#s.

All my daughter wanted for her fourth birthday was a pogo stick. I went on the search for pogo sticks for someone so young (but with such an adventurous spirit!). I was happy to find this one. She is almost 40 pounds, and this product has a weight limit of 60 pounds - some reviewers find that to be a problem, but I think she will get enough use out of it. The only problem we are having with the weight limit is her nine year old sister, who weights 78 pounds, wants to get on it and we have to sternly remind her to stay off! Anyway, our four year old is a little hesitant to get on it without one of us holding onto it, but she is getting more and more comfortable with it. It's a good way for her to get used to something she wanted so badly! Boing!

My son is 5 years old and only 37lbs so I thought he would have a hard time using a pogo stick but after only a couple of minutes he was bouncing around. The base really helps him balance so he can bounce for longer. He loves this pogo stick but its not the safest toy, he has gotten hit in the face with it and fallen off a couple of times. I would recommend this toy for a very active child who is ok getting some bumps and bruises once in a while.

My boys love this toy. It keeps them occupied for hours. It is easy to tke the big part off so they can use the smaller tip.

My boys are 6yrs and 8yrs and both love jumping on this pogo stick. I just didn't realize it had a 60# wt limit and my oldest is right at that weight. So far it has held up, we have had it for just over a month. I love the grow-to-pro base on it, it gave them the needed confidence to start jumping and now we can take it off and work on their balance. It is a little pricey, but my youngest ordered it with an Amazon gift card he received for his birthday, so it made it an easier purchase.
