This was a hand me down toy given to my son and we placed it in his crib early on. It will automatically turn off after a while, but sometimes we would hear it come on in the middle of the night when he turned it back on lol. He loves this thing. Now he is about to turn one year old and since we're nervous about letting him sleep in the crib right now he hasn't been able to use it much (it can't hook onto his playpen), but when we do let him play with it he seems to enjoy it still.
The only bad thing is that a child could bump into it (has not happened much) or shake/hit it and make the back part fall off/loose. We have it pushed up against the wall, but one time he got the back part loose. I don't know how it's meant to stay on, but our solution was to place it close to the wall. If the back is loose the battery connection is not there. Overall, a great toy. Did not realize the price til I saw it here. Definitely would buy it early on if you're gonna fork over this sum. For the amount of time we used it consistently the battery life must fair well.

We got this for my son before he was born, so it has always hung in his crib. He's 2 1/2 now, and has always loved it, from the early days when we would turn it on for him and he would watch, fascinated, as it lulled him to sleep, to the later days when he could turn it on and off himself. It has helped him get back to sleep SO many times, and entertained him in the happy mornings. He sleeps in a regular bed now, and we set this on his nightstand because he still loves to play with it. The bubbles, lights, swimming fish and soft music are so soothing, my husband jokes that he wants one for our room! :)
