I picked up this toy because of the Fisher Price name and I'm not disappointed. It seems to be a really sturdy toy and you are able to change it to whatever your imagination holds. My son is 3 and a half and other than a little help, he can build and rebuild this toy on his own. It offers this age group the chance to take apart and rebuild things on their own and not fall apart or frustrate them....Great toy that kept him occupied for hours. This will be on top of his list for Christmas, can't wait to get the other sets...I would highly recommend it to anyone. Enjoy!!

I read so many review from parents who bought this toy for kids under 4 years old. The toy clearly states it is for kids 4 and up!!! We bought this for my son for Christmas when he was 3 1/2 years old. He loved it, but had a hard time putting the pieces together. We helped him a lot, but he still really enjoyed it. Now that he is 4, he plays with it all of the time and can easily put the pieces together with a very little, if any, help. We have several of the add-on pieces, as well as the pirate ship and boat rescue set. He plays with them all and uses his imagination to put pieces from the different sets together. We plan on getting more sets/pieces this Christmas. It is a great toy!!! I really rely on other parents reviews on products before I purchase toys, especially the expensive toys, but when parents write bad reviews because they bought a toy that was obviously not intended for a child too young for it, it really bugs me.

...My 4 year old son picked this out from a sales flyer so I was hesitant to buy the set. It is a very well made construction playset with lots of great accessories and the concept of building it different ways is great. All pieces are very durable and not made of cheap plastic. Even the dump truck and the crane are very well made. The set snaps together very easily and my son has not stopped playing with it since we brought it home.

I have bought much, much cheaper plastic toy sets and construction vehicles and this is not a cheap set, but in fact a great set for the money. Even the box the set comes in is a durable storage box with handle. I am looking forward to buying other sets to add onto this one.

My son loves this line of toys.He is 5 and very into police , fire and rescue play.He has saved the boxes. He likes to look at the pictures to guide him in his building. He sometimes needs help from Mom!I am very happy with the quality of these sets.

I love this new IMAGINEXT line by Fisher Price! Although the recommeneded ages are 4 and up. It was purchase for my son who isn't quite 3.5 He wasn't able to build by the directions,but he was able to put the walls together and such. I built the main portion and he was able to do the rest. He loves the little figures and all their accessories. If you are a Playmobil fan, this is the line for you! Seems to be less expensive! You get a lot for your money and more durable. It held my little guys interest for hours! Can't wait to buy the CASTLE next!!!!

My son loves this toy. He has had it for 6 months now and plays with it all the time. He loves to role play as the construction workers. I do agree that there are a lot of small pieces so I would not recommend it for a child under 3 (Neither does the manufacturer). We have not had problems with the pieces staying together as long as we play with it on a hard surface. It did not work very well on carpet.

I got this set for my two boys and they love it. My oldest son (4yrs) can help to put it together. I found it easy to assemble and durable. We have sinced purchased more sets.

My 5 year old son got this toy for his birthday and it was a huge hit! The set connects easily and holds together, and he has had many hours of entertainment with it. It has the usual Fisher Price quality and we have already purchased the rescue station for Christmas for him. A definite winner in our house!

It won't stay together. You build a wall and start on the next wall and the first one falls apart. It's a great concept, it looks like it will be fun, IF we can ever get it to stay together long enough to play with it.

We love this set, as we do all our imaginext toys (fire center, police station, coastal patrol, medic center). My 6 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old play wonderfully with these sets together. I still help build because I actually like being involved but the six year old comes up with what he calls "turbo imaginext" - he combines the different sets together to make his own creations. For the reviewer who compared imaginext to Thomas and Geo - I think you should put the imaginext away for a year or two and then try it again - I think you would love it.
