1.0 out of 5 stars make it go away!!!
Its loud, no volume control
Its clunky, not soft at all,
when he's dancing kids cant hold him,

It has NO STUFFING, so when kids try to hold it its not cudley, you can feel all the solid parts through elmo.

ALL THIS TOY DOES IS SING THE SAME SONG AND MAKE SOME HORRIBLE NOISE THAT DOESNT EVEN SOUND LIKE A CHICKEN.

I wish I spent the money on something...

The Chicken Elmo is great for any age child. My friend told me about it. Our babies were both two months old when we bought them the chicken Elmo. My baby had just got out of the hospital and I wanted to make him smile. It worked!!!! He will stop crying when he hears the sound. Over all, this is a great toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elmo Fan, November 4, 2002

My 20 month old daughter LOVES anything to do with Elmo.

My neighbor gave her this toy yesterday (have now threatoned to hunt my neighbor down once I've heard the chicken song for the millionth time)

My daughter loves this toy more than any other one she has! She carries it all over the house. She looks at it and repeats Elmo over and over again until she goes to sleep.

I think it 's the best toy she's ever received and although you may hate it I highly recommend it!

a co-worked overheard me one day saying that i loved to go to wedding receptions to do the chicken dance. when she was out shopping for my daughters one year birthday gift, she came across elmo. imagine my suprise when i helped my daughter open the gift and saw that it was elmo singing & doing the chicken dance. first thing my daughter does when we get home from the sitters is to get elmo out of the toy box and dance along with him. (mom does too.) this is a must have item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elmo makes it to the winners circle once again as the hot, November 8, 2002

new toy of 2002.

He has been here before, but never dressed as a chicken. On auction sites he is approaching the $40 mark but if you are resourceful you can still find him on store shelves for a fraction of the auction prices.

This 13 tall toy is a lot of fun for young children. It features Elmo cleverly dressed in an obvious chicken suit and doing a dance that all children love, the chicken dance.

Elmo wants to be a chicken, Elmo wants to be a duck, will become a line that gets stuck in your head.

Batteries are included and Tyco has ingeniously placed a small plastic strip in Elmos foot that is the key to unlocking the extended version of the song. When you could find these on the shelf, and you pressed the button on his foot to make him sing you would have heard an abbreviated version of the Elmo Chicken Dance song.

Once you remove Elmo from his packaging you can also pull the plastic strip/key from his foot. Once the key is removed and you depress the button on his foot an extended version of the song will play. This serves as a way to preserve the batteries just a little bit longer for the units that have been sitting on the shelf for a while.

Our daughter was fifteen months old when we bought her one of these. She really likes this toy and it got a lot of repeat business from her at various points in the day. It seemed that whenever someone new walked in the house, she wanted to show off her new Chicken Dance Elmo.

At some point during one of these performances she started doing a little dance along with Elmo. It started off innocent enough; Knees bending, arms flapping, and then, the worst part: Elmo does a really good job of swiveling his head in a circle, leaning it back, to the side, chin down, back to the side and back again, like he is popping his neck. Our daughter really picked up on this move and started doing it spontaneously and with much emphasis.

This got to be a little too much because this move would inevitably cause her to lose her balance and fall. Kids fall all the time and that was not cause for concern. It was the strange looks of pity from strangers who noticed her doing this spastic move in the stores and malls that got to us. Chicken Dance, we tried to tell them but no one ever seemed to understand.

We had to move Elmo to the closet, top shelf. He is sitting right next to a vintage Tickle Me Elmo that we saved from 1997.

You will want to buy this toy for your kids and they will play with it quite a bit. How far you let them go with it is up to you.

Okay, it sounded like a fun idea. It seemed like the kids would have some innocent fun. It's been a week. I have already grown sick of chicken-dancing. The other day I accidently hit the button and he began dancing the chicken thing for the billionth time. I've already drop-kicked him into the woods behind our house but they found it and it continued to work. Folks, the 5 STARS I give this toy for durability is NOT A COMPLIMENT!!! Don't make this fowl mistake!

If you have a toddler or younger, get this one quick as it will probably be the hotest toy of the year.

Elmo is funny, the song is simple and the dance is hillarious (if you just get a couple of little little's doing it)....go Elmo!

Ignore those who tell you it's not a good value, irritating, low educational value......the toy is most definitely for small children, they love it, and you will just have to put up with it....or worse....you don't pay attention, don't get it, and they are the only ones in their daycare who don't get what they REALLY REALLY want.

My 13 month old son loves Elmo so much so I though I would get him this, we did the demo on the fisher-price website and he loved it so I went out tonight and got it for him. It sounded really loud in the store but I thought it would be for demo purposes only (usually u take out the tab and it takes the toys out of demo mode) well it wasn't. This toy is so cute and fun but way way too loud. I don't think it is really annoying or anything because its so cute the way Elmo sings the chicken dance (I walk around the house all day singing it) but it is so loud. I am afraid my son is like gonna go deaf and there is no way to get to the speakers to cover them with tape or anything to make it lower. Well I would definately recommend this toy but just be aware of the loudness.

I bought this for my 19 month old cause she loved it in the store. I expected her to get bored with it fast, but she liked it so much I couldn't resist getting it. I have had it for 3 months now and she still loves it! I have a 4 month old that also loves watching it.
