This was great to take to other peoples' homes. My son was born in August, so we had family get togethers for two birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas and this was perfect to take along. My son was too young to entertain himself in a Pack 'n Play and could not join us at the dinner table, so we put him in this swing and he could watch us at the table. The swinging and the music kept him calm and he enjoyed grabbing the two hanging toys and the fish on his belt. Like most Fisher-Price toys, you can set the music (or sounds) to play constantly or when your baby pulls on the toys. There are also several swing settings - you increase the increment as your baby gets heavier so she or he will still be able to swing. At 22 pounds, my son still easily swings.
Now that my son is eating solids, I sit him in the swing to eat at other homes. Since I don't have a portable booster seat, this works fine. The pad washes and dries really well. I use cold water and the delicate setting and it hasn't faded or shrunk at all. The swing uses batteries and they last a long time. This swing doesn't collapse easily for travel. Even when folded, it is a bit bulky and awkward. I have a SUV with a third row of seats and I just leave the swing intact and put it back there.

The Only Swing to Buy!,
By Madison and Nathan's Mom (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fisher-Price: Aquarium Take-Along Swing (Toy)
This was a great swing! If I had it to do over again, it would be the only swing I would buy. We have a traditional, big swing. Then we bought this one to take with us when we are out and about. This swing is wonderful. It is small enough to take anywhere in the house easily. It sits on the kitchen table while we are eating dinner, on the counter when I am cooking, in the living room during the evening hours and in our bedroom when I am getting ready in the morning. The music isn't annoying, both of my babies have loved the lights and the hanging toys. In fact, the hanging toys were the first thing my daughter reached for and grabbed.
It's very sturdy- we've taken it on numerous day trips and family vacations. It has lasted for both of my kids so far- daughter, 14 mo. and son 3 mo. and will probably be around for the next one! A great buy- I would highly recommend it!

My 6 month old daughter has been using the previous version of this swing (almost the same except for the lack of a pivoting handle, and the colors are slightly different) since she was 2 months old. She loves it, and for the most part, so do I. It's fantastic for traveling between houses or visiting relatives/friends who don't have young children, and therefore don't have anything to keep a little one occupied, or a place for them to sit/sleep.
My problem with the swing is this ... previous versions of the Fisher Price Take Along swings had velcro straps to secure the seat in a closed position when you are in travel mode. With the new design, there aren't any straps, and you have to simply fold the seat shut and hope for the best. The legs stay folded just fine, but I can't tell you how many times the seat has popped open while I was walking or trying to get through a doorway or some other space that required navigation. I have had the seat open unexpectedly, trip me, catch on furniture (and other people) and knock things over. At this point, I am almost reluctant to take it anywhere unless I know I have another person to help me, because I can't carry the car seat and this swing at the same time ... which I should be able to do!! I would advise folks to get a piece of string or a long strip of velcro and improvise some means of securing the seat shut if you truly intend to use this seat for a lot of travel. I'm going to be making a trip to my local arts and crafts store in order to do just that as soon as possible.
