5.0 out of 5 stars Have used for 2 months so far. Highly recommend!
My 3 month old son is sleeping soundly in this swing at this exact moment. He loves his swing. He loves looking up at the lights and is already reaching for the hanging toys. Good job Fisher-Price! This Aquarium version of their already popular take-along swing is adorable! I love the fish "swimming" in the side arms and the cute stuffed fish toy in the belt...

1.0 out of 5 stars buy the other model
I already own the deluxe take along swing(which is the original version) and I love it, so when I saw this version in the store I thought it lookd like it had more for my son to look at with those floating fish on the sides and I bought it. I hate it. First of all the baby is to reclined in this seat. His chin rests on his chest and he is always squirming to sit up...

I already own the deluxe take along swing(which is the original version) and I love it, so when I saw this version in the store I thought it lookd like it had more for my son to look at with those floating fish on the sides and I bought it. I hate it. First of all the baby is to reclined in this seat. His chin rests on his chest and he is always squirming to sit up higher. He seems very uncomfortable. Second, the velcroe straps on the deluxe model that keep the unit together and stop it from swinging for easy "take along" are not on this model so it is not easy to carry with one hand because the seat swings out when you walk. The third thing that is different on this model is that if you have it in the lights and music mode, when it shuts off you ( or the baby) can not just pull one of the hang down toys to start it back up like on the deluxe. You have to turn it off and then turn it back on with the switch so there is no way for the baby to restart it himself. I called fisher price to find out if maybe mine was defective or something because these seemed like really dumb changes to make and they told me it is a new model and they are still working out the kinks. They told me I could return it to them for a refund. I did. The original deluxe take along swing is much much better.

My 3 month old son is sleeping soundly in this swing at this exact moment. He loves his swing. He loves looking up at the lights and is already reaching for the hanging toys. Good job Fisher-Price! This Aquarium version of their already popular take-along swing is adorable! I love the fish "swimming" in the side arms and the cute stuffed fish toy in the belt pocket.

Our little guy was around 9lbs when we bought this and now he is about 12.5lbs. Right now he's running on the speed 3 (out of 8) and it is plenty fast.

We put a Kiddopotomus Snuzzler under him (those are awesome for newborn car seats too!) because he looked so small in the swing at first. A Snuzzler is just an added support cushion. He doesn't need it but it makes it even cozier.

I love how quiet this swing runs and I haven't had to change the batteries yet! There are so many options on this thing too. I just can't say enough about it. I'm so glad we bought it instead of a full-sized swing. It takes up less room & is portable.

When he gets older there is a toy setting - which allows the baby to pull the hanging toys to start the music & lights. Then there is an automatic music & light combo setting or just a music setting.

Anyway, hope that helps!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in product, July 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher Price - Aquarium Take-along Swing (Baby Product)
I bought this for our 3 month old daughter because she likes to be in a swing, but the full size one is too big to take room to room. The swing is great for its mobility except for a few things. First the music does not play very long at all and you have to constantly be resetting it. Also, the handle bar is in the way when you are trying to pull your wiggling infant out you have to make sure you don't hit their head on it. They should make the top open or make it an option to fold the handle down when you take your baby out. Also, if you need to change the batteries, you better make sure you have a phillips screwdriver with you, that is the only way to open & close the battery cover. Lastly, when you fold it up, it does not stay closed, you have to hold it all together. Other than that, I do like the variable speeds, the lights (when they stay on) and the toys that hang down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used to HATE baby swings!, January 31, 2004

This review is from: Fisher Price - Aquarium Take-along Swing (Baby Product)
This swing is a must have. I have never been a big fan of swings. I was content with my bouncy seat, and felt we didn't need a large cumbersome swing taking up space. My daughter felt otherwise!!!! I looked and looked for something that would give her a swing and fit my high baby standards. I was about to give up when I found this one. It is soooo perfect and both she and I love it!!! This swing has changed my perception of baby swings forever!!!!! The music is the same soothing melodies that you expect from the aquarium line, the colors, lights and toys are adorable and for a travel swing the quality rivals that of the big, regular sized, bulky swings. The bonus of being portable and easy to store away can not be talked up enough!! You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I am so impressed with Fisher Price and their aquarium toys, keep up the great products. My only suggestion to would be buyers is invest in rechargeable batteries (you'll need them if your baby loves this as much as mine does).........

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this so far ! !, February 12, 2004

Got this for my 3 wk old twins, granted they are small and I havent had it more than 24 hours but it works great and I like the fact I can take it to whichever room I am in and give the boys a different view. I also have the large FP aquarium swing, one minor problem with the grinding noise. THIS SWING IS REALLY QUIET ! even with the music off. If the performance holds up I am in love. highly reccommended and cutest on the market right now. FYI dont buy the Graco one heard a few similar bad stories...

4.0 out of 5 stars This is swing has worked great for us., May 3, 2004

I'm really happy with this swing and have used it with my son since we received it as a gift when he was about 3 weeks old. I did have to take off the toys that hook onto the dangling fish to keep them from hitting him in the head, which happened if he leaned to the side. I also do not like the bright colored seat pattern (I'd prefer something more subtle since baby doesn't look at the seat). My son does love the lights, the music, the toys, & the swinging though, and it has been great to use all over the house. It is much more fun for him then his Fisher Price Papasan, where there is nothing for him to look at.

I received this swing for a shower gift and was very excited to use it. It worked fairly well when our daughter was about 1 1/2 to 3 months old. However, the dangling toys hit her in the head (my husband used duct tape to keep them out of her face) because she couldn't sit perfectly centered. The carrying handle is also problematic because it's tricky to get the baby in and out without hitting her head. We put it away because she slumped over one too many times and her head hit the swing arm. Once she was sitting better we tried again. Same problem only worse because she was larger, and this time (at 4 months) her head got stuck between the seat and the swing arm. We put it away again until 5 months when she's sitting very well with just a tiny bit of support. It's now being put away for good. She slouched over again and this time her head really got wedged between the seat, the swing arm and the upright support. She does enjoy the swing with it's lights and music as long as I sit right in front of her and keep adjusting her, however, this defeats the goal of being able to eat dinner while she's swinging and entertained.

1.0 out of 5 stars SHOULD BE RECALLED, July 5, 2004

This swing is dangerous. My 3 1/2 month old son got his head/neck caught between the metal and plastic pieces on the side of the swing while it was moving. Don't waste your money on this swing.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO convenient!, June 12, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher Price - Aquarium Take-along Swing (Baby Product)
I've read some of the other reviews and I don't know what some of the negative reviews are talking about. For example, one mentions a bar that keeps falling down. What bar? Another mentions that it keeps opening when being transported. I wonder if something needs to be tightened on their swing b/c ours doesn't do that. Still, if Fisher-Price added a strap or something to make sure it stays closed, it would be an improvement. We have this swing and it's absolutely great! When our daughter was a newborn, she liked the lowest swinging setting and no lights or music (too much stimuli?)--you can turn the music or lights on or off as well as adjust the volume of the music. Now that she is four months, she likes to look at the lights and bat at the hanging fishes. It's great to take into the bathroom so I can take a quick shower; move to anywhere in the house (very portable); and Gran couldn't talk about it enough, saying that it was a BIG help when our daughter was visiting at her house (and there's no way we could have taken along our big swing, despite that we have an SUV). Wish I had this for my other 3 older children when they were infants!

5.0 out of 5 stars Key element on swing-Seat Back Tube installed incorrectly., August 7, 2004
This review is from: Fisher Price - Aquarium Take-along Swing (Baby Product)
We use to not like this portable swing because my 2 mos. old son wasnt able to see the lights directly. He was actually underneath the lights. His head would also fall to one side of the swing. He hated this swing. Now...however....we have since learned that one key part to the swing was put on incorrectly. The seat back tube needs to be put on the swing with the curved part angling towards the floor. The instructions were a bit confusing. So if your baby is sitting too upright in this swing; you have the seat back tube installed incorrectly. The dislay at the store was actually installed incorrectly as well so its an easy mistake.
