5.0 out of 5 stars This Papasan Chair is the BEST thing ever invented
My daughter is 6 weeks old and will NOT fall asleep unless someone is holding her, even if she is dead tired. After she falls asleep, I still have to hold her for a good 20 minutes before I can put her down (and she will not sleep in her crib, the only place she sleeps is her car seat) , and even then she sometimes wakes up screaming. I sometimes have to hold her all...

2.0 out of 5 stars Comfy, not for active babies
The Baby Papasan seat seems to be a very comfortable seat for small babies, but once the babies get beyond the newborn stage, they seem to be too long for it. It is also a very calm seat, nothing to entertain the baby. My daughter only used hers a few times, was very bored with it. The music is very loud, I put tape over the speaker.

I sometimes have to hold her all night. I was desperate for anything that would help her sleep. The first time I put her in this, she was tired, but still very awake. She feel asleep within 10 minutes. I have only had this for a few days, but anytime I put her in it, she is guaranteed to fall asleep. This chair is a GODSEND! It must be very comfortable for baby!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another place for them to sleep!, March 1, 2005
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
I had preemies and this was too big for a long long time, but I had them padded, swaddled and pinned the head cushion back and it worked out just fine.
Now that they are 9 pounds 22 inches..they're finally fitting into this seat. One LOVES to sleep in it. At first I kept putting her in there as after feeding I was worried about whether she was well burped once I had to get on with her sister, this chair seemed to not only keep it all down but doubles as her cozy nest. The attatched blanket(removeable) it great for tucking them in. The music loop is tiring but def. more soothing than the Kick and play bouncer we have...what a short lived item.
We do have to keep it at a tilt with a cushion at the foot because it's too much of a tilt and they slide down quite a bit. They're almost 3months..I know we have much time to go still with this chair.
It's really nice fabric and not obnoxious like a lot of other items out there. Soothing for both of us. Thinking about the swing now...it must be as great as this papsan, right?

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful for babies and moms, February 25, 2004
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
I love this chair. It helps keep my baby asleep long enough for me to make myself lunch, which is a big deal for a baby that doesn't ever like to be put down. My only complaint is that it doesn't bounce at all, which now that our son is born, we realize he likes. But the vibrating feature is must. I do wish it would stay on for a little longer. My baby wimpers a little when it turns off. It was defenately worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutest Most comfortable Chair for baby!, April 15, 2004
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
This is adorable and the softest baby chair out there it is modeled after the "adult" chairs they sell at Pier One. I have a daycare so this has been tested by all the kids. The four month old loves it and it cradles him where he can easily sleep. My only complaint is the seatbelt seem so small he only weights 13 pounds and it seems to rub on his sides make him red if I they were to change the seatbelt to be as soft as the chair I would say this to be 100% the best chair. My 2 and 3 yr olds like to sit back in the chair and read books or watch TV. (yes they even fit in the chair)The music is the coolest thing about it , sounds like a llulaby CD you would buy your baby. Not annoying at all actually soothing with the 8 songs it plays. I LIKE that the vibration/music shut off after 15 minutes of use. I dont want my babies to be dependant on having to always be moved to be happy plus it saves the overall battery life if we forget to shut it offn I wouldnt want it be vibrating during his whole 3 hr nap.

4.0 out of 5 stars a great chair!, August 23, 2005
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
Our 3 week old son loves this chair! He sleeps very well in it and I can carry him from room to room in it while he snoozes. Ours is almost always on the vibrate feature and the batteries seem to last forever! We haven't had to change them yet (after over 3 weeks of a lot of use!) My only wish is that it was able to rock and that the blanket stayed up better.. Will is able to kick it off without any trouble. The cover is easily removed for washing which is helpful. Overall, a very comfy chair for our little one. Wish they had one big enough for this tired mom!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Price!, February 18, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
At first, I was hesitant about this baby seat because of the price. I looked around at other, less expensive ones but kept coming back to this one. Finally, my mother just went ahead and bought it for me. I am so glad she did. It is so soft and it fits so snugly around the baby. I think this seat would make any newborn feel very secure. If you are considering this item but hesitant about the price, like I was, I highly recommend you buy it and try it out. It is so much better than any other product like it and it is definitely worth the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful for preemie babies, May 10, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
Since I am expecting twins more than likely they will be born within the 4-6 pound range. I got this seat for my sister (she always has small babies and her third was a preemie)her daughter loves it and unlike other bouncers she doesn't get lost in it. If you do your homework before buying you would see that this seat has been advertised for small and preemie babies. That being said it is a good idea to buy a second regular sized bouncer also. And usually the age range for bouncers isn't very long and usually they say UP to 15 pounds.I would take into consideration that by the time babies are 4 months old they sometimes double their birth weight. so if you have an 8lb baby you can probably guess that by the time they are 4 months they will weigh around 16 pounds. It would be up to you to decide if you wanted to sink $50 in something that you won't use for a very long time. And the legs hanging over the seat really isn't that big of a deal if you look at it when they get older most kids do hang off the seat, My almost 3 month old niece's feet do hang down and she doesn't seem to mind in fact I think she is most comfortable that way.
About the seat I love that the colors can blend in and aren't that out there, the seat is sooooo soft I wish they made on in an adult size, and it is reclined so they can nap in the seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this seat!, October 23, 2004
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
We received this seat as a gift before our son was born and boy am I glad we did! When he first came home from the hospital he would not sleep in his bassinet, but snoozed away peacefully in this seat. (Only later did we find out that he had acid reflux and therefore needed to be kept atleast partially upright after meals which was probably why he found this so comforting.) This seat is so comfortable! The extra padding in the cushion really seems to cradle him, and the attached blanket make it a perfect place for him to nap. The legs make it very stable and the handles do make it much easier to move around than a regular bouncer seat. The music is also much more pleasant than most of the other seats have. Also, it does fold up so that makes it easy to take with you for an outing. He was 7.5 lbs at birth, but now at 6 months old weighs a whopping 20 lbs and is still using this seat. Sometimes I do think that he misses the bouncing that other seats commonly have, but overall the benifits do outweigh this. The only thing that I didn't like is that the movement and songs only last for 15 minutes and I do wish that they lasted longer, but with that as my only complaint I still really like this seat and would reccommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars I wasn't impressed at first, but now I absolutely love it., January 30, 2005
This review is from: Fisher-Price Baby Papasan (Baby Product)
When I first received the papasan, I was regretting my decision to put it on my registry. My newborn just didn't look comfortable and he didn't really like to sit in it. Now that my son is a little older (5 months), we both love it. It's super comfy now that he's grown into it. He loves to watch his Baby Einstein videos in it (and vibrate away). I also pull the Fisher Price Classical Chorus Gym right up to it and he will play the piano forever in his papasan. I like the fact that there is nothing in front of him. That way he can watch me (which he loves to do), watch his DVD, and just sit and hang out with mommy and daddy. I also like that there are 4 different options (off, music only, vibrations only, and both). I'm very happy now that I have this seat.

My daughter is 4 weeks old and loves her Baby Papasan! She's been using it ever since we came home from the hospital. It's so snugly and comfortable that she will take long naps in it and will even sleep there at night. She has reflux and has to sleep elevated, so this seat is perfect for her.
