5.0 out of 5 stars Best ball toy we have had so far!!!!!!!!
The problem with most ball toys is that if you get something stuck in it you can't ever get it out. And if you loose the balls the toy is unusable because no other balls will work with it. Not so with this! You can use just about any ball with it. It only comes with 3 balls, so right away we rounded up every ball in the house. We have about 20 of them going and it makes...

My 1-year-old daughter loves her ball popper toy, and when we received this as a gift, I thought this would be great. And she does enjoy it. It makes cute noises, and she loves to feed it the balls and watch them go around. She also likes to push the button on the giraffe's head to make him play sounds.
There are a few problems with it, though, causing me to rate it at 3 stars.
One is that the balls don't always go into the giraffe's mouth easily -- you have to get them just right, or they stick, and little baby hands don't always get them in there just right. This is frustrating for her.
Second, when she tries to pull up to standing on it, it tips. Not all the way over, and if she was pulling from her knees, it might not be a problem, but she's pulling from a seated position, and it keeps wanting to tip, which makes me nervous.
Thirdly, the balls don't always emerge fully from the tunnel, so they "disappear." At this age, she doesn't understand that sometimes she needs to fish the balls out, so I have to get them for her.
It's an entertaining toy, but I would prefer something that doesn't require so much adult intervention/supervision.

The problem with most ball toys is that if you get something stuck in it you can't ever get it out. And if you loose the balls the toy is unusable because no other balls will work with it. Not so with this! You can use just about any ball with it. It only comes with 3 balls, so right away we rounded up every ball in the house. We have about 20 of them going and it makes it so much fun. I'm not uptight about loosing these balls because I can go buy some ping pong balls if I need to.

As far as what the other reviewers said, it does take good coordination to put the balls in the mouth. My son got this for his 1st birthday and it took a day of practice to get good at putting the balls in. Smaller balls make it easier. If your child doesn't have good coordination then they may get frustrated. On the other hand it may improve their hand eye coordination.

It is really cute and plays cute music my son likes to dance to. My 3 year old is enjoying it too. Like I said it's the best ball toy we have had over the years. I have had to toss all the others out because you can not buy replacement balls for any of them, including the ball popper. But this one will last.

Update: Still love it but check out my review on the Fisher-Price Go Baby Go Sit-to-Crawl Polar Coaster

I thought my 9 month old would love this since he really likes other toys with balls (drop and roll dino, busy ball popper). But he has shown very little interest in this one.

The balls are too hard to get in the mouth (there is resistance; hard for a baby). Also, he loses interest even if he does get the balls in the mouth - seems to be because the balls don't always come out the same exit. While I thought the fact that they are random would be fun, he doesn't like it. He's just now learning cause and effect so the randomness doesn't interest him; it's not repeatable.

As for a toy to use while standing, I've found it not stable enough since it tends to tip. And he has trouble pulling himself up - the handles are awkward to get to so he pulls at the ball track. Once standing he finds it awkward to reach around the base to get the balls after that.

This is one toy I wish I hadn't spent the money on. On the plus side, my dog seems to enjoy it - she's figured out how to set off the music by pressing the button on the nose with her chin.

This toy seemed like a great idea, but as another reviewer said - it takes a decent amount of force to get a ball through the mouth. So much so, that I don't anticipate my [...]really using this too much. Definitely a let-down.

I bought this for my son for christmas. It is a nice idea and looks very cute but has a lot of problems. Most importantly is the balls don't easily fit in the mount you have to really push them in. This is to hard for my 11 month old son to do. Secondly, it only has one song which is anoying after a while(it also goes wee, and another noise when you get the ball through his mount). Finally, sometimes the balls don't come out of him and you have to tilt the toy to get the m loose. He losses intrest in a few minutes. It does have a sturdy base which allowes for standing which is I think it's onl plus. I would not recomend this toy.

First off, I almost purchaced this item for my daughter for Christmas today from Walmart, but decided against it due to the fact that it did not have many different sounds and my daughter is still a bit small for it. So I will not sit here and say whether it is a good or bad product. I just wanted to inform anyone who bothers to read these reviews that Walmart is selling this exact same product for only $15! I mean think about it... Amazon almost $50 and Walmart is $15 currently. Please check your local walmart before you spend this kind of money for it on Amazon. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Lot's of fun! Purchasing this Giraffe is no gaffe., July 13, 2008

My son recieved this as a gift on his first Christmas. He's two years old now and he still likes to play with it every once and a while. It's cute, it's colorful. The sounds and jingles are cute. My son loves feeding the giraffe or just pressing the button on it's forehead. He also gets a kick out of watching the balls slide down.

While the name says "Sit to Stand" I wouldn't buy it for the purposes of having your child lean on it as he learns to stand. But, the good news is that a child can play with it while sitting or standing. If you want you child to learn to stand, just have him rest up against the couch.

I think that your child will enjoy this toy just as mine did.

The screws that are supposed to connect the feet keep falling out. A huge choking hazard! The head of the giraffe is very hard and heavy. Another dangerous feature since this toy tips if a child pulls up on it.

Putting the ball in the mouth is ok when they are sitting, but once they stand my kid has no interest in leaning over to put the ball in. I would suggest getting the previous version where the balls go in the top. My mother-in-law has it and all 5 grandkids have LOVED it!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, cheaply made, and non-educational, May 4, 2011
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fisher-Price Go Baby Go Sit-To-Stand Giraffe (Baby Product)
My daughter received this as a gift for Christmas, and we (and the gift-giver) thought it was adorable. She was only 3 months at the time so we held on to it, and we actually opened it for her to play with when she was 6 months old so she was still a little young for it, but she's also a little ahead of her developmental age-group. She almost immediately used it to go from sitting to standing (yup at 6 months) and while it was sturdy enough for her to do this at 6 months, she's now 7 months it tips quite frequently. She loves the noise it makes when you either push the button or "feed" a ball, however its REALLY difficult to get the ball in the mouth, especially for her little hands (you have to get it to fit just "so" and push it past a trigger to make the noise). Also disappointing was the slide the ball goes down seems to lend itself to helping with the pulling-up process, but is too cheaply made and was immediately bent out of alignment. Now when you get the ball in the giraffe's mouth, it only goes halfway down the chute. I'm also not a fan of the random nature of the balls, and the fact that every time she reaches for one in the tray, it shoots back in and disappears into another tray (not enough of an angle for the exit ramps). It's frustrating for her and aggravating for me, and really teaches no skills that couldn't by learned without it. The best value of this toy is the balls - she loved the blue one and learned to crawl by chasing after it - again, I'm quite sure this same trick could be learned by chasing after raquetballs.
