5.0 out of 5 stars A great, simple toy
I am so sick of every toy for my son having lights, sounds, obnoxious voices rattling off ABC's, etc. Read the book "Bright from the Start" and you'll see why all of these modern toys with every bell and whistle imaginable are NOT educational and in fact probably contribute to a shortened attention span. This toy is simple, educational, and fun. Babies don't need a toy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Still wondering...
I bought this when my baby was 10mo. She is now 15mo and not very interested in it. Is is extremely unstable, so we only have it out when an adult is very close by. Hoping she will like it when she is older and doesn't need to have support while playing with it.

My 19-month old son got this as a Christmas gift. Supposedly it is recommended up to 36 months, but I think he will be bored of it very soon because he has a similar toy. I am not sure what "sounds and surprises" the packaging is referring to, nor do I hear the "lots of rewarding sounds." "The center button squeaks and makes a basket everytime when pushed." The latter is true, but I don't hear any squeaking. "Sturdy and stable base allows baby to touch and feel without knocking it over" - well, not exactly, especially when your child is over 30 pounds. Supposedly you can adjust the height of the "four-position post" as your child gets taller, but I can't see how that can be done. I am sure the other basketball games are better. Don't bother with this one. It's a failure product and it's not even listed on Fisher Price's website as one of their products.

This was a christmas gift for my 9 month old. It was too unstable for a pre-walker, he would knock it over before he even started playing with it. It's been in the closet forever and I just pulled it out to see if he would be interested in it. Not at all. I think he would have loved it at 9 months. Now he's bored with it. Too bad it's so flimsy.

This toy is simple, educational, and fun. Babies don't need a toy to say "1, 2, 3" to them for it to be educational. Instead they need toys like this one that teach basic cause and effect and let their imagination take over and make it even more fun.

Oh, but a word of warning... It isn't stable enough for a pre-walker to lean on it. It will fall over.

I bought this for my 9month old I thought he would love it. He tries to stand at it and the whole thing falls over while the yellow stand comes out of the base. Ugh I put it back in the box and am hoping to return it to the store. Do not buy this toy it is not entertaining and is very cheaply made.

This toy is not sturdy. I have to put it in front of the couch for my daughter to use, otherwise it falls over, and she falls with it. The buttons are too hard for a baby to press. The balls are even "baseballs" and not basketballs - comon, China!! If this toy was more sturdy, it would be much better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised., December 22, 2010
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

Pros
- Short enough for younger kids/babies
- Comes with three balls
- Entertaining for awhile

Cons
- Advertises sounds and only has one little noise
- Isn't constructed well
- Not a long lasting toy
- If you loose balls the toy is pretty useless.

Overall
This toy is ok. I won't pay $20 for this toy. It's okay for a child a year to at max 2 years. It's too tall for crawling children but too short for kids over 2. The toy has three holes you can put the balls in. You have to push a button or slide that causes the ball to either fall to the base or go through the hole. My son was interested in it for a little while but not long. By the time he was a little over 18 months he didn't care for it. I won't buy this toy again. I would much rather invest in the basketball hoop that can grow with my child.

I bought this product as a Christmas present for my 13 month old son. I was a little unsure after reading some other reviews and thought for the price it was a good deal so why not. When I received it my son was excited to see it since it was bright in colors, but when I put it all together he maybe played with it for 5 minutes, and still hasn't played with it. I thought that it would make sounds or flash lights, but it doesn't. It's just boring
