4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Tumbling Fun!
The Playzone Crawl Along Drum Roll was not something I necessarily wanted in my home. I tried to keep all of the electronic toys at bay, hoping my child would grow up around developmental toys that didn't make noise.

After receiving this drum for Christmas, I changed my mind. He absolutely loves the flashing lights, and the tune is VERY catchy. I've seen my husband...

2.0 out of 5 stars Smacked in the face
I purchased this toy as a christmas gift for my first child. She immediately crawled to it and pushed down on the end of the toy which came up and smacked her in the face giving her a bloody lip. Thinking that maybe it was a learning experience we let her try again which resulted in a huge knot on her head- EVERY child to come to my house did the exact same thing. If...

I've seen my husband be-boppin' along to the music.

The drum has an Off/Low/High volume control, which every parent can appreciate. It comes with three balls, to boost your child's put-and-take ability, and as he places the ball inside, the drum makes a kooky sound to let you know it's gone in.

This toy is very helpful to those of us who have babies who are apprehensive about crawling, because it encourages them to move around the floor by playing the music only when it is touched.

The Playzone Crawl Along Drum Roll is definitely worth the small price. It will last for a long time, too.

I had bought the Crawl-along drum roll for my 6 month old daughter. Wow! Her eyes light up with amazement! She can't get enough of it. And the good thing is.....it will last her through several stages! Right now she watches the lights, pushes it around and listens to the music. But within a month she will be crawling with it and a few months after that she will be putting the balls in the container and so on....Well worth the money for 5 months on up. I give this one a BIG THUMBS UP!!

My son loves this toy:) My son is 2 1/2 & he enjoys rolling it to mom. We have a special game, when no balls roll out we all cheer!! When the balls roll out we say "AAhhh". We have loads of fun. This toy is educational, because it teaches a child to dump the balls out (cause & effect), it teaches a child to roll, and it even teaches a child to roll with his foot the beinning steps to kicking a ball(Gross Motor & fine motor)!
You can even be silly by dancing with the music.(auditory)(pretend play) Oh, by the way this toy is very durable. We have a very steep stairway with hard wood floors, no carpet & my son through it down the stairs several times & it still works great! (cost efficient)
This is a grow with child toy & for such a great price!!!

My son absolutely loves this toy. He received it as a gift when he was a newborn and was instantly attracted to the lights and cool music. It's actually not too annoying for Mommy either! The balls do fall out rather easily, but that might be kinda the point to the toy? My son can't crawl yet but loves to sit with the toy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why not to buy this toy, October 14, 2002

1. Annoying music.

2. Music starts automatically - usually after putting your child down for a nap - just when you are about to fall asleep yourself.

3. Other toys fit inside. Normally you would think this is cool, however, my child is very good at jamming in items that are just a tad too large to remove. He then gets frustrated and screams. I (Mama) then try to remove the too large toy - unfortunately I can't always get them out (Daddy!).

4. Hole in top is just large enough for little hands to get stuck when they try to remove one of the aforementioned toys. It took a long time for my son to figure out why his hand was stuck. Lots of crying and screaming.

5. My son has yet to actually roll it (he's had it for months).

6. You can never find the balls that go with it. They always seem to be under a piece of furniture or at the bottom of the toy chest. And there are only 2 or 3 balls, so it's not like there are extras around to be seen among the million other toys.

7. My son loves to stand on this toy. One of these days he will learn the hard way that barrels roll.

I can only think of one good thing to say about this toy - there aren't a million parts.

My son got this when he was approx 4 months old and he loved it. It plays music and really stimulates them to crawl. When he started crawling (5.5 months) he would try to grab it and then it would roll and play music and he'd laugh. Then as they get a little older it's fun to put the balls in the hole on the side and roll it with those.

There are two levels to adjust the volumn which is GREATLY appreciated by parents. You have to unscrew the side to replace batteries.

This toy is awesome! My 1yo loves putting the balls in but hasnt figured out how to get them out, their hand and the ball will not fit through the oval hole, I believe that is on purpose though, so the baby will learn to dump. It makes music and sounds when they put the balls in the hole. My 2.5yo loves putting everything in it, anything that fits goes in there. Even my 5yo plays with it. They like rolling it around. I thought it would be a great pushtoy since my 1yo loves pushing stuff, but its hard to push. But it is a fun toy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best toy in the box, but worth having, October 23, 2002

Ok, I don't want to repeat what all the other reviewers have said, balls, lights, music, you already know all that. If you can, go to the store and listen to the music a few times. The low setting really doesn't carry far, unless you have the TV off and the lights down, but you didn't really expect an uninterrupted adult evening ayway, did you?

If you get this toy you will be hearing that music, and at odd times too. My daughter loved the music for a while and really got into stuffing toys into the drum. The monkey jar effect is frustrating, but it's a lesson they have to learn. She never got into pushing it around and rolling it, but it was great when she was learning to put toys into things.

The drum is sturdy as can be, the balls leave something to be desired, one got stepped on, the other two were tasty treats for the dog. Any ball or other toy smaller than the opening can and will end up in this one once the original balls are gone.

4.0 out of 5 stars not obnoxious, entertains baby, September 3, 2002

This drum has been a source of entertainment for my 8 month old son since he was 3 months old. The balls that go inside it are a good size for his hands, his blocks fit inside it too, he rolls it to get it to play and flash the lights and he dumps the blocks and balls out onto the floor. The music is good, isn't obnoxious which is rare in baby toys. Who wants to be inundated with bad electronic toy music all day? Some "musical" toys make my son cry. not this one...
