When you download the free Create and Learn app, your child can choose from three different modes of play. In Learn mode, kids can make their way through the alphabet and use the attached stylus and unique fonts to practice writing letters and words. In Create mode, they can explore their artistic side by using the art tools to color, do puzzles, or draw. And when they choose Explore mode, they discover fun facts from A to Z just by pressing a button. Kids will stay engaged for hours as they learn their ABCs and fun facts, practice their fine motor skills, discover cause and effect, and more. The real magic of the Create and Learn app happens with the 13 double-sided alphabet cards that are included. Set a card down behind the case and see the butterfly actually flutter or the helicopter lift off the ground and fly around. Each 3-D image will come to life. Your kids will be amazed — and want to make the “magic” happen again and again (AR features require an iPad with camera).

Features:

  • Clear protective screen helps keep your iPad safe
  • Use with any app or download our free Create and Learn App, available in the Appstore
  • Attached stylus
  • Includes 13 double-sided alphabet cards
  • Available in two different colors

Product Packaging: Frustration-Free Packaging
After owning this for less than two months, I am revising my rating to 1 star. This really is a poorly designed, cheaply made product. You can see my original review below but here are my new complaints:

1) The protective screen is so thick and bulky that it reduces the touch sensitivity of the iPad. If I was going to keep this case (I'm not), I would rip out the protective screen and put a Tech Armor Apple iPad 4, 3 & 2 [NOT FOR NEW IPAD AIR] HD Clear Screen Protector with Lifetime Replacement Warranty [2-Pack] - Retail Packaging on the iPad instead.

2) The compartment in the back to hold the activity cards does not stay closed. The cards are constantly falling out so we have to play the Fisher Price version of 52 card pick-up.

3) The stand that holds the case upright is flimsy and has bent over time. Now it sits so far back that the case is at about a 45 degree angle to table, which is not optimal for viewing the iPad.

4) The tip of the stylus ripped off very quickly and is not replaceable.

5) Even with the modifications I made to allow the iPad to be charged while in the case (see original review below, though for some reason the pictures that I uploaded were removed by Amazon), it is still not a convenient solution. I had been just leaving the cord plugged into the iPad, but it was constantly getting pulled out. Now I take the cord off when its not charging, which requires removing the iPad from the case. Definitely a royal pain in the back-side.

I'm going to trash this worthless piece of plastic and buy a real Otter Box to protect my iPad.

We bought this to see how well it would stand up to our 3 year old who has both severe behavior problems and hypo sensitive sensory processing disorder (i.e. she can't tell how hard she is exerting herself physically). The combination of these 2 things means that she can be rather destructive.

We have had the case a little over a month and despite her throwing it, punching it and dropping it repeatedly, it has held up great. I love the fact that it had a removable stylus and the case made the iPad heavier. Even for an average pre-schooler, this is actually good because it means that they are less likely to chuck it when frustrated (which is wont to happen even for an average child), or at least without as much force.

My daughter is very good at figuring out child proof locks (she was opening child proof medicine bottles at 2) and the locks on this case are still beyond her, so she is not able to remove the iPad from the case.

The iPad still works as well in the case as it does without the case, which was something I was not sure about as well and was happy to see was not a problem.

In short, I am impressed. We needed this iPad to help with therapy for our son (autistic), but were nervous that she would break the iPad. The case has held up to her, and if it can hold up to her, it WILL hold up to your child.

Poor touch control with thick plastic screen.

No opening for the iPad charging port. You have to remove the iPad from the case everyday to charge it. This is of course when the iPad will most likely break defeating the purpose of getting the case in the first place.

I returned this item for 2 reasons. First because you can't access the volume, off switch, headphone jack or power jack while the case is on. Second, it's really heavy.

It is sturdy number 1 and therefore do not have to worry about the ipad being dropped and broken. Yes, it is a little heavy, however, this means that child cannot run with this and after spending over 4 hundred dollars for an ipad this is fine. The off switch is a little difficult to reach, however, once you get accustom to it not a problem.

I have nothing negative to say about this and feel it will last my 4 year old son until he is 7 or 8 depending on how he is with taking care of his stuff.

Additionally, the package arrived very quickly and was wrapped well.

I had to send this back because the original iPad would not fit. It's not really a case - too complicated unless you're getting it in order to use the learning features, find another case. It's heavy too... much too heavy for the toddler we gave the iPad to.
