5.0 out of 5 stars Great for big babies! (Instead of using a bouncer) September 15, 2010

I'm a first time mom, of a big (not fat) but long and solid baby boy. We originally had him in a bouncer when he was a newborn. Had I realized that our baby would grow so fast and weigh so much by 4 months of age, I would have purchased this rocker instead. It holds a whopping 40 lbs! Our son weighs 20 lbs and he's 4 months old. Our traditional bouncer (Fisher Price Little Lambs Collection)-- hold only 25 lbs, as most do. So this rocker could have saved us a good $80 if we would have bought this instead. I love how brightly colored the rocker is. Our son never grabs a hold of toys, but when he's in this rocker he loves grabbing the toys on the toy bar (which can easily be removed for getting baby in and out.) Our baby is long-- and he loves to kick, so when he's in his bouncer it usually hit his feet, but in this rocker he can kick all he wants and he won't get hurt at all. I love how you can either put baby in the A. Rocking position/ or B. Stationary position. This way you can use it for your newborn as well and keep a infant positioner in the rocker under them to keep them nice and snug. The rocker also vibrates which is a plus. Bottom line, if you are looking for a bouncer that will hold a solid baby, something they won't grow out of right away (and can be used as a chair when they're a toddler)-- then you definitely should buy this rocker. It's a life saver for those moms who need to keep baby occupied so they can take a nice relaxing shower. Just keep the rocker in stationary position right in the bathroom with you-- and baby will stay nice and content while Mommy takes some time for herself. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Infant to Toddler Rocker February 5, 2012

This is my 3rd Fisher-Price Infant to Toddler Rocker. This Deluxe one is my favorite as it appears to be made a littler stronger and bigger. One would ask, why would I buy three.....because I have a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and now a 5 month old. The 3 year old and 2 year old still use them every day. My 5 month old slept in it for the 1st three months; it was perfect because I could transport him to any room when he fell asleep to try and keep him away from his brothers that don't understand what quiet means. I love that this is something that he can grow into, as well. It's awfully adorable to see the three chairs lined up in front of the television; we have our own little home theater seating. Would definitely recommend; just wish they had this deluxe model out for my other two boys.

2.0 out of 5 stars Puts pressure on baby's head and could flatten it January 2, 2011
We bought this chair before my baby was born because we wanted something to place him in while we did some chores and ate meals. It is nice because it grows with the baby. I will warn you that in the infant position (leaned back), it can put a lot of pressure on your newborn's soft head. After a couple of months of use (maybe two hours total each day), we started to notice that our son's head was flat in the back. Our peditrician said it could be from using an infant seat or bouncer. We realized that the infant position really did put pressure on the back of his head. As he got bigger, we were able to put him in the rocking position and it did not put as much pressure on his head and his head started to fill out in the back. We are not using the seat as much now because we want to avoid putting any pressure on his head if possible. We are starting to use a Bebe Pod since he is able to sit up in it.

We are going to save the seat and use it as a toddler chair. If you want a chair for a newborn, you might consider one that does not recline so much. This one also lacks any padding around the head. If the child is a little older, this chair is probably fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars no use
it doesn't lay back far enough for the baby to sleep and it is a hassle to rock, can't use your feet you have to hold it at a certain angle and rock it with your hands. Read more
