4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for toddlers
In order to boost my two year old daughter's creativity, I bought her this Doodle.
I have seen similar doodle's with all my friend's kids and it looked fun.
After some research I got "Doodle Pro Classic" and let my daughter on a rampage.
She is very excited with this product and spends quality time on it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not nearly as nice as the 'step-up' models
We bought the "Doodle Pro Kid Tough, in pink" for our daughters. It came with four stampers, and was SO much nicer than this one. It was heavier, seemed much stronger, and had big handles on the side. It also had the pen tied to the side, which made much more sense. Unfortunately, it was missing the magnet on the back of one of the stampers. We returned it, but...

This thing is rock solid and has survived all kind of abuses a toddler can throw.

Only annoyance is that the position of magnetic pen is on top which is kind of uncomfortable. It should have been on bottom or on side.

Please make sure to practice some animal sketches before buying this as kids are more interested in looking at someone draw rather then do it themselves. :)

I think having a doodle is definitely good if you have a toddler at home. Initially my daughter would ask me to draw stuff on it...as I was showing her how to use it. She would ask me to draw fish, car, elephant etc and I will have her erase it. It got her used to one aspect. After about couple weeks, she herself started doodling in it and erased as she doodled as well.

Pros:
- great tool to have around
- beats writing on walls and carpets etc
- you can join the fun and draw/write as well

Cons:
- I would have preferred the string to be attached to the bottom right or left, on top and over the screen is a bit intrusive (check other models)
- you may need to practice drawing some of the animals your kid asks...cow, dinosaur etc...

I would recommend this toy. I'd also recommend the smaller travel version for long car rides. My son likes it. He's now 2 so he's not a real saavy drawer but he loves telling us what to draw. I'd brush up on your art skills if your child is 3 or below.

I ended up going with the Classic Blue Doodle Pro. It was $9 cheaper, but not nearly as nice. I would much rather pay the extra $9 for another KidTough pink model.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best purchases ever for our kids, November 8, 2010

We have been getting a new Classic Doodle pro about every year for our kids. I wish they lasted longer, but considering that our kids draw on them every single day, I guess a year is a pretty good run.

My oldest son started drawing on his like crazy around age 5. My younger son started around age 2. They have both used them for probably 1-2 hours a day on average now for 2 years. Amazing! We take them everywhere we go. They have learned to become amazing cartoonists.

I do NOT recommend the Doodle Pros with all the extra junk - graphics or shapes. Lame! These things are classic and all you need, with no extra pieces to lose.

We always have one blue one and one red one so they don't get mixed up.

This toy was purchased for my son for Christmas last year after he LOVED the travel model. Unfortunately, the eraser portion of this toy does not work! It sticks and doesn't slide to erase the artwork, making this toy virtually worthless. I would look into another model of this kind of toy.... the small travel one is GREAT!

Sadly I bought three of these, one for each of my children. First off, unlike competitors, the item instructs you to completely darken the screen with the pen at least three times before initial use. Even after doing this horrid task nine times, the screens look dirty and cheap almost right away. I would love to say nice things, but lying is worse. Don't buy.

I'm not sure how long we have had this... maybe two years. It is fun and light weight and my 3 girls loved it even the older one who is 9 now. They actually would fight a little over it. It isn't very durable for children that like to stand on it though. I had to correct my younger girls 2 and 4 from standing on it several times. Now the eraser part has two big cuts in it and it doesn't erase very well. So, if you have some children that think they can sit and stand on it then this isn't the toy for them. I don't think I paid this much for it 2 yrs ago. Other than it not being very durable, I think this is a great toy. I have one that is much older than this one that still erases and they stand on it also. These are also good for the baby that has to do what her three sisters do and she can scribble and not get ink or marker on anything. I was going to buy another one even though I like them to last a lot longer but the price has jumped up.

Surprised this is Fisher-Price. This is not worth the money, the screen darkened after only a few uses. My son doesn't play with it, it will more than likely just be thrown away...

My grandson loves this toy, always wanting to play with it and sharing it with others. He is only 20 months old. I noticed that there can be "stains" on the toy if the drawing is not erased soon after it is drawn. The drawing pad seems to get darker with use. Otherwise, this toy is great.
