5.0 out of 5 stars Great versatile doll for your young Dora lover
My daughter got this doll for Christmas last year, and it's easily her favorite. She adores all things Dora, but this toy is definitely the most played with of all her toys.
I think the outfits are a little pricey, but if you shop around and wait for sales like the day after Thanksgiving, you can find them at a reasonable cost. We bought them all in one shot last...

3.0 out of 5 stars My Daughter the huge Dora fan!
We were Christmas shopping when we came across the doll/outfits. My daughter begged and begged for it till finally I'm like OK, OK, OK. I'll buy that for you NOW. You've been such a great girl and mommies wonderful helper. BIG MISTAKE. She only played with it two days tops. I bought her the doll and bought the soccor outfit seperate. She was frustrated that the back...

We bought them all in one shot last year, and have been doling them out for special occasions.
I like the fact the basic doll comes with a puppy, as well as Backpack and a storybook. Each outfit has a separate theme (with coordinating book) and they're constantly adding new outfits to her line, so you can pick and choose which you prefer.
My only complaints is getting the shoes and hats to stay on, otherwise my daughter has no problems dressing the doll and getting Dora ready for her adventures.
Overall we're very pleased with this toy purchase and will probably have it for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 year old loves Dora, November 7, 2005

Great for the little Dora enthusiast. Pull on pants, velcro bracelet and velcro backed shirt. I like that Dora wears a painted on pink bra and underwear. This way when my daughter carries Dora around without the clothes, Dora is still dressed. The shoes are an issue as writen in other reviews except that my daughter seems to like putting her shoes on over and over again. Unlike all of her other dolls that just go without shoes because she can't do it herself. Dora's hair seems to stay flat and in place. It is also easy for my daughter to brush. Dog, backpack and book are a nice touch.

I bought this in october for natalie's birthday. She is so thrilled with it! She takes it along EVERYWHERE. The doll is fully poseable and comes with a shirt, pants, shoes and a small book thats sorta hardback(better for younger children). dora looks very pretty. her hair is rooted and her eyes are big and pretty. she also comes with a backpack and map! her backpack can be taken off and things can also be stored in it(like her shoes and signature bracelet). and every child knows that it isnt dora unless there is backpack and map! i think she's a tall 15' or 18' tall(she's pretty tall)! you can also buy add'l clothes for her to wear and they all come with books too! A very fun toy for any little one who loves dora!

Both my 3-year old daughter and my 5-year old son (to his father's chagrin) love playing with and endlessly dressing Dora. Her outfits are darling and my children enjoy mixing and matching (or not-so-matching in some cases) the clothes, too. We are looking forward to adding new outfits as well as the armoire and bed - Dora needs a place to sleep!

Dora is well made and sturdy, and her clothing has even been through the wash and no harm done.

And I have to admit ... I've been known to dress Dora a time or two myself. We have the same problem with the shoes not staying on well, but it doesn't seem to bother my little ones at all.

My two year old received this toy for her birthday, and it's been a favorite ever since. This is a sturdy, well-made doll and I forsee it lasting many years, even with constant play. I agree that one of the only big problems is that the shoes do not stay on. However, the beach outfit does have shoes with elastic that seem to stay on fairly well--except that my daughter cannot put them on her doll by herself. The hats don't stay on either, which can be frustrating. Otherwise, it's easy to dress/undress, and lots of fun for my child. Another word of warning: if your child is like mine, and enjoys taking dolls in the tub or pool...beware that Dora's hair takes DAYS to fully dry. And after that first adventure in the pool, the hair hasn't been the same since! It's nothing major, and my two year old couldn't care less, but an older child may notice the difference. It's also a bit tricky to get all the water out of the body cavity. Just so you know!

I just got this for my daughter's 5th birthday and when she saw it in the store she said she didn't want it because it would be too hard to dress and she would get frustrated.

Well, I didn't know what else to get her so I decided to give it a try and IT IS SO EASY! The shoes are big enough that I don't even have to worry about her little brother getting ahold of them and choking! The outfits go on very easily and cause her no frustration whatsoever.

Well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars For Dora fans, February 15, 2007
This review is from: Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer: Dress-Up Adventure Dora (Toy)
My daughter is into Dora and enjoys this doll as it can come with her everywhere and she can dress her up to, which teaches her about different professions. Also my 1 year old son took it around with him too.
Durable plastic doll, good quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good doll, but why do they make such a heavy head for her?, November 11, 2005

My daughter got this doll for her 2nd birthday and she didn't play with it much at first. Perhaps she was a little young for then. She's now 3 and has enjoyed playing with it a lot more lately. My only complaint about this doll is that her head is so big and heavy! She just cannot stay standing up on her two feet! Why have the manufacturers insisted on making a doll with such a big and HEAVY head? This is the case with all of the Dora dolls we have- little or big- and it's just annoying and irritating to children when they are trying to keep the doll standing up on her two feet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Find!, January 7, 2005

My daughter loves Dora, but even more she loves animals. So she was really excited when she saw this doll in the store, because Dora has a dog with her. We had Nana buy this for Christmas and you should have seen her face when she opened it. Now Dora does everything with her. I can't wait to purchase some of the outfits for the doll.

The doll itself is fully poseable, has a beautifully painted face and sweet haircut. (and for parents - she doesn't sing, talk, or play music) She comes fully dressed and with a backpack, book, and of course the dog. The only drawback I have found is that the shoes come off a little easy. You may want to take them off and put them away so that your child doesn't lose them.

A really great toy for kids who like Dora.
