5.0 out of 5 stars Fisher-Price is GREAT!!!
We bought this item today and brought it home. It was easy to put together. My husband and 8 year old son assembled it for our 3 1/2 month old son. We layed him on it and he was all smiles and giggles. He loves the music and the lights and all the little toys. I have the cradle Papasan Swing by fisher-price, the papasan bouncer by fisher-price and now the play mat...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but a little too flimsy...
My daughter did enjoy playing with this baby gym, while it lasted. She loved to watch the bird in the center flying back and forth, and she liked the cheery music and lights. But, like some of the other reviews I read, the piece of plastic in the center that connects the two poles broke. We had only been using this gym for about 6 weeks when this happened. My daughter...

My son is 4.5 months old and he still likes this playmat. He has been using it since he was about a month old. I have had no troubles with the bird coming off (and he does pull on it and grab it.) The bird does stop moving and playing music but I figured out why...it's to encourage the baby to hit the toys. As soon as any of the hanging toys move the music and bird start up again.

All in all this was a great bargain and my son really likes it

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth It!!!, May 11, 2005

This is the best thing besides the bouncer that my daughter loves. My daughter can spend an hour or more underneath it! She "trys" to talk to the bird when it hasn't moved in awhile! (She's almost 3months old but loved it since Day 1. Soon she'll be able to explore all the stuff on the mat when she gets more tummy time! I totally recommend this item!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment for even young ones!, March 17, 2005

We started putting our son on this mat to play at 5 weeks old. He absolutely loves it. He stares at the bird as it moves and likes to look at the toys hanging down. He coos, smiles and kicks while watching everything go on. Before we got this, he would only stare at the ceiling fans in our house, so this was a welcome distraction. We can't wait to watch him become more active and able to actually play with the toys hanging down. We also use the mat to make sure he gets plenty of "tummy time."

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful entertainment for mommy AND baby, June 5, 2005
This review is from: Fisher-Price Flutterbye Dreams Deluxe Gym (Baby Product)
My daughter absolutly fell in love with this gym. We have the cradle Fischer Price swing (lullaby nature one) and it also has flying birds and butterflys. She really enjoyed that, so we went out and got this play gym. She could spend an hour under hear easily without wanting to come out and loved to smack the toys.

The toys also remove and now that she is older and sits up on her own, she plays with the toys in her hands and in the bathtub. We also bought additional toys to hang on the loops and change them out with Chimes and others so she doesnt get bored (although that hasnt happened yet).

We bought a Bumbo seat so she could sit up on her own and pulled the bumbo seat up to the toys and bird on this gym and she played with it sitting up very easily.

The only downside that i think it had was that when my girl was younger and didnt have as much motion, the bird wouldnt move (since its motion activated) since it couldnt detect her...i would just sit near and bump it with my foot to get it going again..i think it really helped her learn to 'talk' since she was always cooing at it.

I was very pleased w/ my purchase.

I bought it for my daughter when she was about 4 months old. If I would of known she was going to love it i would have got it sooner. She had so much fun and kept her very entertained. She outgrew pretty soon. I recomned you buy when baby is 2 months.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO Much Fun for Baby!, April 20, 2006
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

We've had this baby gym since my Isabella was 2 weeks old. As a newborn, she loved to stare at the birdie as it chirped to her. There are also lights on the toy that fascinated her. The music is simple and soothing, unlike some other baby toys that seemed to scare her at that age!

Isabella is now six months old, and this is still her favorite toy. She gets quite a bit of use from it... she loves to bat at the toys, kick the bars, or flip over on her tummy and see herself in the mirror. A toy that accomodates so many stages in baby's development is a rare find!

I like that this baby gym has a couple of options... For newborns, you can press the little button in the middle so the birdie sings and flaps for ten minutes or so. As baby grows older, it has a switch on the side to be "kick-activated." With this option, the birdie responds if the baby kicks the bars. This is a great way for older babies to learn cause and effect! As stated above, this toy grows with baby. This gym was easy to assemble, and VERY easy to clean. You can simply throw the blanket in the washer for easy cleaning, and as any seasoned parent knows, that is a must!

My daughter was still at the age to use a baby gym, so we had to go buy a different one for her. I did not feel comfortable tying the poles together with string or anything else that is not intended for use with this item, and it was definitely not fixable. This is a very cute baby gym, but it really needs improvement. We were pretty disappointed. If this item had not broken, we would have been very happy with it.

When I went shopping for baby gyms I was suprised to see how much more expensive they are now compared to when I had my first child, 4 and a half years ago. I decided on this one for my 7 week old. She loves it!
I was so suprised to see the bird flying back and forth . It reminded me of being on a ride at disneyland . I knew it played music but I didnt pay much more attention to the other features it had.
The gym keeps her attention for quite a while. She sat under there for about 30 min kicking her feet up at the toys. Every time the bird would start chirping she would start "cooing".
Ive seen some other gyms my friends have for there babies. They are alot more expensive and arent as nice as this one. Im so happy we decided on this one for her!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps your little one occupied, June 7, 2006

I purchased the Flutterbye Dreams musical gym for my daughter. This was the only place, other than Mommy's arms, where she was content. The beautiful colors and soothing music kept her occupied when I couldn't give her 100% of my attention. The only downside to this product is that as she got bigger,(mind you, my daughter is 11 months old and weighs 14 lbs), she would pull the bird off and this would frustrate her because she could not put it back on. So, all in all a beautiful product, I just wish it was a little more difficult for the baby to pull off the birdie.
