Not a huge fan of this toy. The lid (or back of turtle) comes off easy as other reviewers have said. Baby has a difficult time putting the shapes in the sorter because of the angle at which the shape has to go in. She has been using it since about 12 months old but possibly it will be easier when she gets a little older. For now she plays with the one that has a flat top and doesn't lose interest as fast.
Toy is durable and cute and we like that the shapes make noise. I would choose a different shape sorter for a small child.

I really wish the "shell" of the turtle stayed on better. It does not lock in place, so if you touch it (much less a baby hitting it with blocks), it moves. My son plays with blocks, the base and the shell all separately, but I had to buy another shape sorter for the intended activity.

This turtle is great conceptually however in practice it falls short. The top comes off way too easily. My daughter simply takes the turtle off and places the shapes in the body. She is missing the entire purpose of the exercise and I think it's duo to the fact that the shell doesn't have a mechanism that makes it stay on. She loves the shapes so she at least has some new rattles and something new to chew on.

The top to this shape sorter comes off too easily, making it pointless. My son is 9 1/2mo. old and the first thing he did was take off the top & throw it. He wasn't interested in trying out the shapes. It's too bad. It's such a cute toy & I love how the elephant moves on the front. All the toy needs is a latch so that adults can take the top off to get the shapes out, but that will keep babies from taking it off prematurely.

I bought this toy for my nephew for his 1 year old bithday, even though the age limit on this toy starts at 6 months it is still very beneficial for a 1 year old! He loves it and plays with it every day, and you can't beat the price.

I bought this before my son was born because I thought it was adorable. I finally pulled out when he could sit up by himself, but the only thing he was ever interested in was pulling the top off the turtle of chewing on the yellow triangle block (this one is somewhat rubbery compared to the hard plastic of the others. When he got a little older he started trying to play with it, but would give up. In my opinion, there are a few design flaws - 1) The dome makes it difficult to see all of the openings at once. My sone would have to try and turn it or move around it to try and match the shapes. 2) the top comes off way to easily. A slight bump and it falls off. While I realize it needs to be easy for a child to take on and off, this one falls off in the course of using the toy.
I finally purchased another Fisher-Price shape sorter (Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Baby's First Blocks) and he loves it. Only good thing was that I was able to use 3 of the blocks from this one with the new one (the green square is too big).

I bought this for my 6 month old who was bored with all of our other toys and needed something for her sitting up playtimes. I bought this thinking she could begin to get the gist of sorting shapes but even at 7mo that hasn't happened, lol. This turtle is well made, it's not flimsy plastic. The shapes hold her attention and are a good size for her too pick up (her favorites are the mirrored star and the soft pastic triangle). The one downside is that there isn't a locking feature for the turtle shell so they can't all be contained securely within the turtle. That's isn't a big deal and I usually turn the shell upside down and place all the shapes in there and have just put the turtles "body" away for when she's older.

Ordered from UK to my grandson in the US. Easy for little hands to hold. Very suitable for 9months old infant. Delivery was good.

My son started playing with this when he was about 6 months old. He is 13 months old now, and this is still a favorite toy that he plays with everyday. It is amazing how much he loves this toy! Yes, the shell comes off easily, but that is not a problem for us. My son does take the shell off the turtle but then will put the shapes through the holes while the shell is on the floor. He especially loves the red block and will carry it around with him. He enjoys playing with the other blocks too. I never would have guessed that such a simple toy would be loved so much. It's fantastic!

I was originally given this toy as a gift when my daughter was a couple of months old. As soon as she could grasp things, she was shaking the shapes and looking in the mirror. She has gone through phases of stacking the shapes, wearing the shell as a hat and having her own band with these. It was not until she was 2 that she mastered fitting the shapes through the shell. This toy has followed her development for over 2 years now and she still enjoys it.
