The ready for school learning center is a kid-safe USB computer peripheral that includes a kid-friendly (QWERTY) keyboard, writing tablet, stylus and CD ROM software that helps preschoolers in getting ready for school. The ready for school center is an expandable system with each additional piece of software consisting of five learning centers and one field trip activity. The five centers are reading, writing, math, art, music, and science. Each center is represented by a physical button on the base hardware that is used to access those activities. Children can also print out reward certificates and a supplemental worksheet-type activity from each center, while a parental control lock the child out of the desktop, prohibits internet access, and limits the number of prints the child can create.

the kids love elmo, they love all the games that come with cool school...they spend hours going from one program to another. making their own pictures and adding to them from presets is their favorite. a great idea from fisher-price!

My son loves Elmo, so I thought he'd love this with his Computer Cool School keyboard. He does, but he doesn't like it any more than the original software that comes with the keyboard. The games and layout are basically the same. I'm not sure I'd spend the money again, since it doesn't add anything new.

The Cool School was discontinued after only two years and apprantly the games have gone up in value somehow since people are searching for them. Good luck - the cheapest I could find this one was $86 on ebay. The same goes for the other games. I haven't liked a lot of the "new" Fisher Price games/toys that have come out over the years and have switched to Leapfrog & Vtech. Look elsewhere and the maybe this game will go down when the demand goes down.
