My daughter received this for her 2nd birthday. She loves it. She dances while Elmo sings. We have the problem of him falling down. He only falls when he swings his arms all the way around. We have put him on the carpet and on hard floor, but it falls no matter where. We still enjoy it. If I am with her while she plays with it, I just place my hand around one of his feet to keep him from tipping over. If your little one likes Elmo, they will like this one.

It's a sweet toy, and the premise is a good one... an animatronic Elmo that "jumps" and shouts. The song is a cute rendition of the familiar tune and Elmo is Elmo (so kids will love him).

The toy itself, while being pretty cool at first, quickly makes you wonder what the engineers were thinking. It's fairly unstable (top heavy), enough so that the "Help Elmo, he fell down" is triggered on nearly every play.

It's a one-trick pony too. And although the outer coat is soft, the interior isn't, so your child won't be squeezing it. My kid likes it, but doesn't really play with this one much. It's sort of sad, he was given it as a very thoughtful (and pricey) gift; so it's hard to be objective about the toy vs. the gesture.

It's a nice toy. But it stopped working after 3 days by the time my son enjoyed playing. I already saw same feedback from another customer. May be it's of old stock... It's not worth buying for me...

i bought this recently .It worked well for a week and it stopped working.
Its bit heavier ,it lost its actions.
I dont suggest /buy unless this problems are fixed.

My son dismissed this toy at 12 months. Showed zero interest.
I just pulled it back out a week ago at age 15 months. He will not stop playing with it! Yes, it falls over. He just picks it back up & presses the button to make him go again. He likes it when he falls over ( Elmo says "I've fallen over, help me please) & my son often knocks him over to get him to say it.
The way my son tosses him around I doubt he will last forever, but the hours he has already played with it have been worth the bucks for me. I am a toy buying fool & this has been his favorite thus far.
Highly recommmend.

On my little sister's 2nd birthday she recieved this from my parents. She was sooooooo happy. She stopped opening all the other gifts and had to take him out of the box. She had Elmo sit right beside her for the whole party. After the party she sang along with Elmo. 7 months after her birthday and this is the only toy she wanted to play with.

I have all of the electronic Elmos I collect Elmo dolls.... I have seen Elmo do it all from the hockie pockie and the chicken dance to the limbo! But I think this Elmo is by far my favorite its sooooo cute and He just makes me want to through my hands up and shout!!!!! I deffenitley reccomend this toy to anyone who is a fan of elmo and I give it 5 stars!

I know this toy has gotten some bad reviews but my son absolutely loves it. If your child loves music and Elmo, they will probably love this toy! It can get a little annoying for the grown ups but I have learned to tune it out. It's been a very sturdy toy for us. Never falls over when on a flat surface like it's supposed to be. I hear this toy numerous times a day! Sometimes my son will knock him over on purpose to hear him say "Elmo fell down, a little help please". I agree that there isn't much educational value that comes with this toy but not all toys have to be educational. Kids learn through all types of play. Actually, music in itself is educational. New studies suggest that even just listening to music may improve learning, memory, logic and general creativity. My son got this for his 1st birthday and he has played with it everyday since he got it. I will say one thing, it is cheaper in the stores than it is on here.

My 18 months old was first afraid of it..but after 2 days he started enjoying and playing with this toy. This was great fun but it stopped working after 5 days and I had to throw it in garbage.

I am concerned about previous reviews that said that Elmo keep on falling down. I made a mistake at the time of ordering and instead of the dancing Elmo, I ordered Shout Elmo. I have ordered it for my nephew (9 months old). I didn't want Shout Elmo because of the complaints in previous reviews that Elmo falls. Well, the Elmo I got, does not fall down at all. I put and played it on the floor, on carpet and even on top of my dresser and Elmo sings and jumps and moves his arms and it didn't fall not even once. Yes, I agree that it is a bit hard material to cuddle but I don't feel cheated since I knew that the toy was like that. The song is really cute and because of that I believe I got more that what I was expecting for this toy. My nephew enjoys watching Elmo singing and moving his arms but he is a little too young for this toy. He just want to hug Elmo and put Elmo's eyes on his mouth. So, I think that the recommended age of 18 months is appropriate.
