4.0 out of 5 stars You might not be better than your kids!, October 15, 2000

I'm surprised to find my 3-year-old and 20-month-old play it better than I do. They are always so concentrated while trying to find the match.

I also found them making progress on this toy as they grow day by day. For example, my little one only tried to split and eat the "OREO" the first time he played it. Now he makes the match almost as fast as his elder brother.

It's really amazing! You might find out your kids are better than you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and educational for your toddler, November 18, 2003

Our son received this game for his 4th birthday and he LOVES it! He is always asking someone to play it with him and he has quickly learned the rules for the easier level of play (put all the cream cookie halves in the cookie jar, deal the plain halves, and taking turns in succession to try and pick the cream halves' shapes that match the plain ones). The first one to match all their cookie halves wins. This simple game has taught him how to take turns, rules, and shape identification. He never has a problem with losing a game, but that's probably because he's eager to play another round.

What I also like about this "game" is that even a younger child can play with it. Just to find two matching shapes and put them together will keep a young toddler occupied.

We certainly recommend this fun, durable, educational and inexpensive toy to anyone looking for a gift for that 2-5 year old.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an EXCELLENT Toy!, December 28, 2001

This is the cutest game! Our daughter, who turned two Christmas Day received this as a Christmas present and she plays with it constantly. She loves matching up the pieces over and over.
The age recommendation for this toy is 3 to 7, but she has mastered this in a matter of days. There IS a "Memory"-type way to play this game that she is too young for, so I am sure that while 3 may be too "old" as the youngest age recommendation, 7 years old as the oldest age recommendation is probably right on target!
For an inexpensive but very fun gift, you cannot beat this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect game for my 3-year-old., July 29, 2003

This is the perfect game for my 3-year-old boy. The other "memory" type games have too many cards, and he seems to lose interest pretty quick, but the "cookies" are so fun to put together that he likes to play this game over and over again. I was very impressed with this game, it was cuter and more fun than I expected.

This game is such a great find. My son is 3 1/2 and is diagnosed with PDDNOS. He does not have the attention to play a really long game nor does he have the ability not to rip apart cardboard pieces etc found in most other games for this age.

The pieces (12 cookies - 24 halves) are really well constructed and fit together easily for even a 3 year old. The canister is well built and is not one of those where the lid will not stay on.

The concept is easy- place the one half of the cookie in the jar - divide out the others between everyone. Each player puts their hand in the jar and reaches for a half to see if they have a match. It's simple, it plays quickly, and it's easy. The shapes are easy to identify on both halves.

And after we are done, we use the cookies to pretend cook with on our play oven.

I wish there were other games like this available. A great way to learn shapes without having to just look at them and say what they are or use a crayon to match. Too bad the oreos aren't real - oh well, we just pretend they are when we get a match!

We got this when my son was 1 1/2 (he is now 7 and his sister has it). We have played with it many times. I agree with the other reviewers...age doesn't matter. The kids seem to love the fact that they are oreo's and they can get the simple shapes together in no time. The older kids like the matching. We liked this game so much we purchased a new one when we lost some pieces. Prob. one of the most played with games we have owned!

The age suggestion for this game is ages 3-6 but my two year old loves it! Even though she doesn't follow the rules yet, she still enjoys playing. She sits for long periods of time matching the corresponding parts of the cookies. It has also helped her learn her shapes. I like the fact that they have two different versions of playing depending on what level your child is. I am glad we got it!

I bought this for my daughter who is now three. She was learning her shapes and this game was a great way for her to play and learn at the same time. Unfortunately she liked the game so much when she got her kitchen set, they became baked goods! So, we have purchased a second set for my son who is now 2. The peices are super durable and pose no choking hazard. Great buy!

This is a great introductory game to the concepts of matching, taking turns, and good sportsmanship. I bought it for my son when he was two. He was very good at shapes already and loved to match up the shapes. As he got a little older I slowly began teaching him the rules of the game. I was amazed how quickly and easily he picked it up. Worth every penny and more.

I have to say that this game is wonderful for my 2 and a half year old. She practiced her shapes and overall just a fun game to sit down and play with a child. and for the price you cant beat it. I would definitley recommend any parent out there with toddlers to purchase it.
