Krypto the Superdog is Superman's dog from Krypton who, on his charming new Cartoon Network animated series for the younger set, lives in suburbia with a little boy named Kevin. These new Fisher Price toys based on the show are absolutely super! I just picked up Krypto and his friend Ace the Bathound, and they are too cool! What I really love is how great they look next to the 10 inch "Justice League" figures of their human counterparts! Krypto is the spitting image of his TV self, wearing a red cape and a yellow collar with the "S" shield the Super-family is known for. The only flaw in this toy's appearance is that two deep-set screws are visible on one side of his body, similar to a Happy Meal toy. Still, it does not detract much from the figure's over-all look, and he can easily be displayed from his "good side." If you want to disguise Krypto as a regular Earth dog, just crank his left front leg and the cape will disappear into the back of his collar! You can also push in the "S" shield, though it remains partially visible to look like a normal dog tag. Then, push in the button on the side of Krypto's collar, and his shield and cape will pop right out! Krypto's legs are poseable, though I haven't had any luck turning his head. He comes with a trunk that contains removable, sparkling, color changing kryptonite! The package indicates that the (body-heat-activated) kryptonite changes from orange to green, though I've only been able to change it from orange to yellow. Krypto also comes with a fully-loaded doggy dish that (gently) fires two discs out the side at Krypto's enemies! The real treat with this particular piece from the new Krypto toy line though, is that this figure actually talks! Press down on Krypto's tail to hear, "Have no fear, Krypto's here!" "Superdog to the rescue!" "Oh, no! Kryptonite!" "Time to fly!" "It's Superdog time," "Wanna play catch?" and a very cool transformation sound effect! Fantastic toy, highly recommended for fans of Superman, and his dog!

the Kryptonite is hard to change color and the discs that shoot out for the bowl could pose a hazard if fired close to people or other things... the cape stores well when you crank one of his leg, but you have to push in the shield in the front of the collar... it does not hide it too well but still a fun toy with a few neat sayings.... "It's superdog time!" "Time To fly!" Etc.

still a neat little collectors item for the older fans of Krypto the superdog....

I just purchased this toy at Toys R Us for 4.95!!!! The toy is everything the other reviews have written here. An Amazon 2nd party merchant is selling it here for 34.95..How discusting!! I'm hoping those Krytpo Superdog reviewers weren't shammed into paying that exorbitant amount.

This is an amazing toy! My daugter loves it. She has played with it every day since she has gotten it. She loves it and treats it like gold.

the kryptonite only changes color when you hold it under hot water but it is still fun to play with.
I al ready have some other krypto toys including; Krypto's Rocket,
Krypto And Kevin's First Adventure, Bulldog, and both of the coloring books, 1. test pilot puppy 2. dog star patrol. and both dvds too,
their titles are; cosmic canine, and superpets unleashed.


This toy is one of my favorites!
he sometimes helps my brother's rescue heroes perform rescues,
encourages my sisters polly pockets when they are racing their cars, and hangs out with his owner kevin.
I used to watch the tv show when it aired on kids wb but sadly they discontinued it. I heard they still show it on boomerang though.
I recomend this toy to fans of the show or any one who is a dog lover!

My 8 year old son LOVES this toy. He has spent many hours acting out the cartoon and loves that fact that the cape pops out at the push of a button and winds back in by moving a leg back and forth. He likes the food dish that shoots the disc. and also thinks the cryptonite is cool!!! It says it changes colors when warm, but we havent seen that. Maybe nn to run it under hot/cold water?! Overall a fantastic buy.

This toy is very cute and my granddaughter was thrilled to get it for Christmas. But the quality is poor. The dog is suppose to talk but you can hardly hear it and after one day of play, it doesn't talk anymore.
I also bought talking Ace with it and he won't talk at all. Not very happy with the quality but my granddaughter won't let me send them back cuz she loves Krypto so much.

I was disappointed in the toy when I recieved it the week before Christmas and the batteries in the toy were no good. The box told me what batteries to buy and I had a hard time finding a retailer that could interpret the letters/numbers to match a battery to buy. When I went to replace the batteries, they were wrong-at $5.95 a piece and the toy needed 3 of them. I wrote to the company that sent me the toy and I have not recieved any feedback. Very bad experience!!
