dino disappointed,

This review is from: Fisher Price T-Rex Mountain (Toy)
My son was very excited for the mountain and it has fun features - light up eyes, slides, caves - but the mountain continual fell apart and there are not many ways to reassemble. We had kept the cover of the box and knew how to re-assemble, after 8 months I finally superglued the mountain together and it has worked great ever since.

Awesome dino toy,
This review is from: Fisher Price T-Rex Mountain (Toy)
My son got this last year for Christmas and he still plays with it often. Sometimes some of the gates or plants do fall off, but he just puts them back on. He also likes to take it apart and re-arrange the pieces into different configurations. This toy is great for the imagination.Although, if a child played rough with this toy it would come apart a bit more often. No toy is made to be pounded on or abused. Also, this is not good for children younger than 3 or children who have not developed their fine motor control.

Once you put it together it constantly falls apart and ends up one big mess all over the floor etc. I wish it was something that you could put together once and it stays together.I did notice that Imaginext's new Castle looks like it is constructed a little better and a little more permanent.

Very Sad Disappointment for Dinosaur Lovers Birthday,
This review is from: Fisher Price T-Rex Mountain (Toy)
My daughter is a dinosaur fanatic and was so excited to get t-rex mountain on her birthday. It took me over an hour to put it together and with the cool sound effect I thought it would be so much fun. I am not kidding when I say that it literally falls apart whenever you touch it. I could not find any way to keep it together. Very disappointing to spend that money on something that is sitting in pieces all over the floor. I hate to write anything negative about a toy, but, I really felt that I should warn any parent who is about to spend their hard earned money on this item. I would put the money towards some of the cool dinosaurs they have out and even some animated ones. DO NOT waste your money!

Well Worth The Headache,
By Petra (Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fisher Price T-Rex Mountain (Toy)
My son received this for Easter when he was not even 3. He absolutely loves this toy. He is a dinosaur fanatic and just fascinated by everything imaginext puts out on dinosaurs. How shall I describe? Yes, it falls apart sometimes, but then you put it back together "major fun for the kid". There is no "it has to be this way" because many different ways of putting it together are possible "just keep messing with it". When neither myself nor my husband have time to put it together, my son plays with some of the individual pieces by themselves. No matter how scattered the pieces, he always likes playing with them. My tip is "don't loose the papers that come with it.". Reason we have not lost them jet is because my son even loves looking at the pictures on the instructions. Looking back at the many hundreds of dollars I have wasted on non interesting toys for my 2 daughters, this toy receive beyond a 5 star, even though it is rather tricky then easy! Just buy it with a good attitude and willingness to help your child enjoy it and you or the little one will not be disappointed!

Broke my kid's heart,

Fell apart Christmas day. My husband struggled with it several times but it always falls apart after a few minutes of play. My son was so disappointed. He lit up when he saw it under the x-mas tree. A day later it was a pile of junk.

I must admit, I didn't read the description very clearly before buying this for my 3-year old. Had I know that it could be taken apart and reassembled I would not have bought it. He likes to play with it and it's a lot of fun once I have it put together. But as a 3-year old boy, he tends to get a little excited with his dinosaurs and the "mountain" falls apart. It's not easy enough for him to reassemble - so i find that i am constantly referring to the directions while I try to put it back together. It's a fun toy. Great for any dinosaur lover - but I would recommend getting it for an older child who can appreciate the concept of being able to re-design the mountain vs. a parent having to constantly put it back together.

My 3 year old son wanted this toy in a very bad way for Christmas 2006. He was even disappointed when he opened up a huge Hummer PowerWheel box and found out it wasn't his coveted T Rex Mountain! This toy is definitely for 4 and up as listed on the box. Like all the previous reviews, there are tons of pieces and it did take us amateurs awhile to get it together, but well worth it. This is a toy that can definitely grow with Leo. Now he is using it for imaginary play, but as he grows older he will be able to develop and use reasoning and problem solving skills to create new designs. I love this toy and I am so glad that "Santa" brought it for him. Kudos to Fisher Price, finally a toy that I can say that was worth the $[...] paid (unlike the Talking Diego Rescue Center)!

I see other comments suggesting this item falls apart or is just a disaster to maintain. We spent about 15 minutes putting this together, and there are a few items (decorative, not functional) that tend to come off but not bothersome, or cumbersome. It is an overall fantastic toy providing hours of entertainment (at least it did tonight!) and if you can be patient with assembly, and make certain each piece "snaps" when assembled, I'll assure you, it wont come apart. The best part as mentioned before, you can arrange it into other configurations. If your child is a dinosaur fanatic - they'll love this addition to the collection!

My son got this last year for Christmas as a recently-turned four year old. It was well loved but he got frustrated as the toy fell apart when played with heavily. It is designed to to come apart - so know that when you buy it! That hasn't stopped him from playing with it as different pieces around his dinos. Now at almost five he's developed the motor skills needed to use the pieces to actually snap them together and build it any way he wishes. I expect that his appreciation for this toy will only grow over time. However, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it for him until he was five - just to keep all the pieces together until he was ready to build with them. There are a LOT of pieces with this toy and I find them all around the house. This toy may not be for every child but if you want to encourage building and imagination, this is a good one. We pulled it out again last night and he sat for an hour and a half with it and he raced downstairs this morning out of bed to play with it again. He's been at it for two hours now. If you've got this toy and your kid isn't quite enjoying it enough yet, consider packing it away for a few months and pulling it out again with a wee bit more maturity.
