Good Idea...bad product,

The Doodle Pro Glow is a wonderful idea, however not for 3 years olds (as it states on the box). The "tracing" element is a great thing for my five year old, but the three year old just gets REALLY super frustrated...and of course, wants to do it himself.
THEN there's the element of cleaning off the screen once it's been doodled on. They provide you with an "eraser" and make you think that it's as simple as wiping it down. Ah! Not so. The eraser is simply a small piece of sponge, which you have to get damp. When you wipe the screen, it smears everything all around without really "erasing" anything. You will need a separate dry towel that you can alternate with the sponge - as it takes more than one (or two, or three) swipes to get the screen clean. One more thing...beware, the screen cracks easily. We have three cracks on the brand-new screen, and we've only used it twice...both times with constant adult supervision! Unless you just have a LOT of time to wash a screen (as you spend more time "erasing" than you do drawing) than I would suggest something else. Truth be told...he has more fun with his chaulkboard!

The toy is fun for kids, HOWEVER....the markers stain! Your clothes, their clothes....it is bad. My son is within the recommended age for use but while wiping the markers off he was holding the marker in his hand and got it on his shirt. I can't get it off - have tried everything! DON'T BUY THIS OR LET THEM PLAY IN OLD CLOTHES!

My daughter got this as a birthday present a few weeks ago and simply loves it. We got her the extra ABC/123 templates that go with it so she can work on her letters and writting her name since she just started kindergarten. The only thing I found wrong with it was the extra templates are NOT easy to find nor do they last long :( they get tore up way too easy and markers just dry up quickly too.

My son got this for his 3rd birthday and it's too difficult & messy for him. Adult supervision is definitely required since it gives you several markers...a 3 year old with a marker is not a good thing. The sponge 'eraser' has to be damp and you then have to wipe it with a dry cloth to completely remove the marks. Older kids might enjoy this a little more.

Annoying to Keep Clean,

My daughter is 4 years old and LOVES to trace so I decided to by her the Doodle Pro Glow. From the outside it looked like a snap to wipe clean, what a mistake! First you have to make sure that your child does not smear the marker (which stains) all over the place, second they provide you with a tiny sponge (not the same as the picture on the box)and you have to wash it clean after every stroke across the board. I don't know about you but I get tired of running back and fourth trying to keep it clean. Third you then have to wipe the board clean with a dry cloth since the wet sponge never gets all of it off.
Take my advice and pass up this toy and go for the simple Doodle Pro, much easier all around.

Neat concept but disappointing product.,

First, I have to admit that my kids LOVE this--they are boys, ages 5 1/2 and 3 and they both play with it a lot (I can't say that about many toys). That being said, it *is* a pain to clean off--but I've found that diaper wipes work well, then we go over it with a clean, dry napkin. The (very small) sponge that came with it is absolutely worthless. It basically makes a wet, colorful mess on the screen--it seems to push around the markings rather than 'erase' them.
The templates are decent, but you can't really see what you're doing unless you look very closely as the markings don't appear until you turn on the light--and that doesn't do much if the template is still in there. My kids don't really use the templates, anyhow, as they prefer to do their own thing. The markers definitely stain anything and everything they touch and though I've tried, I can't get the stains out (think carpet, furniture, automobile interior). It really is an interesting concept. If the markers didn't stain I'd say it's probably worth the hassle of cleaning it every 3 minutes, but as it stands, this is one toy I can't wait to get rid of after Christmas.

My Children LUV it!,

First of all, YES the markers stain, so keep that in mind when having your children sit down to play with this. The GOOD news is that the stains DO come out. For those of you having problems try adding whatever clothing is stained to a bucket of HOT water... Pour 1/4th -1/2 cup of Hydrogen Peroxide into the bucket and let sit for 30-45 minutes. The stains DO come out.. This product is EXCELLENT for pre-schoolers who have an interest in drawing. I LOVE the trace mechanism on this and quite frankly it's one of the best "Trace" teaching tools i've seen. The children LOVE the "flourescent" look and it's been hard to get this away from them! You can also add pictures for them to draw by making your own..... Just use a white crayon or marker to highlight the picture and voila you have more pictures...

Doodle Pro Glow- Extremely Disappointing!,
By
This review is from: Doodle Pro Glow (Toy)
I was given the Fisher-Price "Doodle Pro Glow" for my son's birthday. Although the concept of the Doodle Pro Glow is unique, the product itself fails to live up to its expectations. The pens that came with our BRAND NEW Doodle Pro were used and didn't last more than a couple of days. The screen is extremely hard to clean and I had to resort to using a window cleaner to remove the gunk that seems to get caked on. The product comes with an "eraser" which is no more than a piece of cheap dishwashing sponge that disintegrates after a few wipes (not to mention that it doesn't get anything off in the first place!). The eraser shown on the packaging is false advertisement since it is NOT the one you get with the product so Fisher Price should really change its advertising to reflect the true product. Fisher Price has always been a brand I've trusted and enjoyed so I was very disappointed at how shoddy this product was. Needless to say, after a couple of days I took the Doodle Pro Glow to my nearest ToysRUs for a full refund.

Doodle Pro Glow.....not great but so bad!,

Great product with pro's & con's like most. The drawing board lights up blinks & glows. Includes 3 glow markers, 5 tracing templates & eraser-plus a storage drawer for the markers and a separate storage slot for the tracing templates.
Offers quite a bit more than your traditional Magna Doodle, but with that come some inconveniences. For one be prepared, to assist your child in removing and returning the tracing templates to the storage slot. Which, is far to narrow for a 3 or 4 year old to maneuver without tearing the templates. My 4-year old loves this product and does an amazing job of tracing the pictures, but erasing the pictures is an entirely different story. We used the dry eraser per the instructions and ended up with a mess and a scratched drawing surface. So, we've resorted to first wetting the eraser, then drying the drawing surface after with a paper towel. This has worked out very well and my preschooler can do all of this on her own. One of the biggest cons for us is not being able to purchase additional markers without buying the accessory packs, which include 3 markers and 10 tracing templates. Although, the cost will only set you back about four dollars, we've already purchased 3 accessory packs leaving us with 35 templates, which is about the max the storage slot will hold. At this point I would rather just purchase 10 markers.

Very Disappointing!,

As others have said, this is a neat concept, but in reality, it doesn't work that great. After drawing on it, you wet a sponge to erase it. Think about a small child wetting a sponge. It ends up a dripping mess! Then they end up with runny marker all over their hands, which ends up on their clothes, etc. We're good about watching the kids, too. You really have to take control of the sponge and make sure the board is wiped properly before the kids use it. The other thing is that none of the colors glowed very well and the kids stopped using it after only a couple of days. Just a very disappointing gift. Fisher Price should have stuck with the original Doodle Pro... my kids have had it for a year and still use it!
