Fisher-Price Handy Manny Fix-It Right 2-In-1 Power Tool

We bought this for my 2-year-old for Christmas and he really liked it. It got played with for a couple of months and now just sits in his toybox. It makes neat noises that he loved but changing from the saw to drill was too difficult for him and required our help.

If you love the sound of Handy Manny's voice and grinding noises, then this is your thing. If not, DO NOT buy it. It makes a lot of noise and is pretty difficult for a smaller child to interchange the pieces. My kids broke it (easily) within a few short months, and I eventually had to hide it because the noise of Manny's voice and the power tool "grinding" sound was just obnoxious. They really weren't excited to get it in the first place. I'd forgo this item, and find something else.

This is one of my son's favorite toys. This is a toy that gets played with daily. He goes around the house drilling all the furniture. It's also great when his dad is working on something he can help with his own tools!

My son received this as a gift for his 3rd birthday in June and he is STILL playing with it (along with his 6 yr old sister) everyday. They both have a blast with this.

My son loves Handy Manny, so we got this set for Christmas. He was very happy when he got it as has been ever since. The saw has batteries and it actually moves and shakes giving him the impression that it is the real deal! He has other Handy Manny toys, and this is a great addition to his collection.

My son received this toy as a gift last Christmas. That was nearly a year ago and he still plays with it just about every day. I can't say that for many toys! It is durable and has survived many falls! He can independently change the toy from drill to saw. The only downside is that it does not come with any screws to actually drill, but he doesn't seem to mind. He "fixes" lots of things all around the house. I'd definitely buy this toy for another child.

I got this toy for my son for Christmas. He opened it and liked it. Very quickly I realized something was wrong with it. The fact that it is SUPPOSED to break for them to fix it just confused the matter! It made the noise if we pulled the button but it would not move... ONLY if it was held upside-down. This I imagine was not intended because it did so in the "free play" setting. I feel like if you have a younger child it's too confusing and complicated and if you have an older child they will probably not be interested in it. It seems to of come broken so I don't see it as durable, although perhaps I got a dud. I'd go with the other Handy Manny toolset or a different power tool toy. I wish I did. It repeats the same lines over and over and talks more than is a tool. If your child is OBSESSED with Handy Manny this might be ok.. if you just want a pretend power tool, skip it.

Side-note: If you do purchase it it's a good idea to make sure it's off each night wherever it is because right now it's in my closet and now and then I hear it yell "WE CAN WORK REALLY FAST WITH THIS POWER TOOL!" ... it is frightening when you hear it go off at 2am as an adult.. I imagine it also is for a child!
