Scotch Zero the Imaginext Dragon of a 4 yr old Girl,

My daughter got this dragon for her 4th birthday. (She's the kind of girl that will serve high tea in a caped batman pj set while wearing a tiara). She named him Scotch-Zero. We don't drink Scotch so your guess is as to the name is as good as mine. However, she loves this dragon. First she thought it was a dinosaur. Last year she received a blue dinosaur who has recently been dubbed Scotch. He doesn't do a whole lot for the price. His wings flap, he stomps his foot and roars, but she loves him dearly. She's hoping her Mimi gives her the dragon fortress for Christmas (which will probably happen because she has a very sharp memory for all things, excluding directions.) I see her use the most imagination with this toy, so while it doesn't do a whole lot for the cost, it does stimulate her imagination and to me that is worth every penny. On top of that, she asked to use my computer to see the difference between dinosaurs and dragons. The price tag for that kind of critical thinking is a semester of college tuition. In an age where children don't know how to make fake laser sounds with their mouths because all of their toys talk, a little less is worth more. She is fascinated with dragons and wants a Dragonology book. It puts me in the mind of old Tonka trucks. Fisher-Price got it right ts the Imaginext series. We make visit to the toy store so she can touch with no restrictions (Think Daddy in Best Buy) and even though she knows she won't get to take anything home she always makes the Dragon Fortress and the other Imaginext toys her first stop. So hours of play from one dragon... Imagine what she'll take on next. I've seen Scotch Zero at least 4 times a week since mid October when he first joined our family. He even guards me if I take a nap. (I have a fracture in my spine, but she trusts Scotch to make sure I don't fall out of bed.) Hearing her conversations between Scotch and Scotch Zero (plus I've purchased dinosaurs for my nephews) makes me a true fan. I can't wait to play with them myself. Forget the Barbie Dreamhouse. We want to wrangle dragons, dinosaurs, be pirates and oceanographers. Worth every dime.

My five year-old grandson asked for this toy for Chrsitmas, and not much else. He really wanted it for his dragon/dinosaur collection. He was thrilled to find it under the tree this morning, then to our and his dismay immediately poked himself in the eye with one of the wing tips. Not five minutes later, his two year-old brother did the same thing. My warning is the following: the length of the animal, especially when being operated as designed, is such that a five year-old's arm length when grasping the movement handles places the wing tips right at the eye. It is accidental, but it happens and is dangerous. Daddy modified the dragon by clipping off much of his wings....the child was very unhappy at first, but is now playing happily again. We love this series of dragons, but want to forewarn other parents of the danger of this particular dragon - the large fuzzy dragon.

My son has every dinosaur Imaginext has sold in the last 4 years. This was yet another durable, colorful, imaginative dinosaur to add to the collection!

The only thing my 4yo wanted for Christmas was a toy dragon. This was the right price, and he was thrilled with it. There are two levers to squeeze - one makes it stomp its foot and roar, and the other flaps the wings. It's a great size and one of his favorites now.
